*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

What, you don't want to hang out in Disneyland watching Billy for 9 months? Oh wait, that would probably be Callie or Tina's preference. ;)

Keep your pants on! The balls are chillin first, then I need to dip them. :thumbsup2

Ok, that works. LOL! It took me a minute for the full impact of what you said to register! That's darn funny!

So Miss Dawn is at the parks this weekend but there's no plan for a meetup? I guess it's good to give her and her bf (aka husband) some quiet tv time together. :lmao:

Don't tell me about the balls. Now all I can picture is Alec Baldwin. :scared1: :scared:

Yep, its her boyfriends birthday. So they are spending some good ole down time together. They are doing the Napa Rose cooking thing.

I hope my marriage is that cozy when I've been married as long as they have. :cutie:

So do I....well I guess I would need to get married first. :lmao:

I am 31 and in no hurry....I am like Bree...very picky!! :thumbsup2

Although I have been engaged.

I think for me my marriage won't be that cozy until after the kids are out of the house and my dh has a job where he works "normal" hours. Working different hours, never being around each other awake, and spending all our time at home taking care of chores, it is not a lot of fun and deff not cozy!

Helllooooo....where did everybody go? Beth has an excuse, she is working with balls! But where is everyone else? Don't you know you need to be here to type funny things and keep me amused at work! Come on now, get it together!

Beth, I hope your balls aren't misshaped, and that they smell good! :thumbsup2 (That's one of my favorite SNL skits of all time...that one and the Caulking how to....you don't want to know about that one!)

I tend to like the Oreo balls better, they are smaller, easier to handle, and you can customize them for any occasion. They are particularly good with coconut on them. popcorn::

I am still here. Although I have nothing funny or witty to say today.

Oreo balls? Do tell!

Its just another exciting day in the land of potatoes.
I really just want to take a nap. I am so sleepy.

Come on now, that was pretty funny! A nap sounds divine! Soooo not in my future, though! The only time I got away with naps was when I was pregnant and since that isn't happening again...I will have to be a retired geriatric before naps happen. Bummer.

Oreo balls? Do tell!

You've never had oreo balls! They are a staple at all of family gatherings. Essentially, you crush oreos mix it with cream cheese, shape chill, and dip. Yummy!

Here's an article about them: Oreo Balls

I just don't think we should limit ourselves to one kind of ball. I mean variety makes the world go round, right girls?

I guess it was somewhat exciting. I got to train the unibrow guy.....

What on earth...do people not look in the mirrors?
He has to have a sister or a mom or something.......

Hi, everyone!

Have not had time to catch up on all the posts I missed, but hope everyone is doing great this week!

We had our Mother's Day trip to Charleston which turned out to be the almost trip to hell - well, just the hotel. I checked it out every way possible, but ohh, boy, what a mess. We even called ahead to request a room without any down due to allergies and room very clean, if possible.

No down, but the bathroom floor was covered (no exaggeration) in pubic hair..yuck..carpet was filthy...place was awful. We had unloaded everything for a baby, 2 senior doglets - a lot - should have checked out the room first. They moved us, but the second room was not much better. We kept baby Sophia on the pull out sofa (opened) whenever we were in the room.

Jackie got to her sutures and pulled some out - even tho she was well sedated...then the last night Sophia fell of the bed and split the inside of her upper lip.

It was a great trip as long we were not in the hotel! Great food, great shopping - Charleston has the cutest baby boutiques! :cloud9:

It was wonderful to get home Wednesday night -we'll go back, but will stay away from that hotel. We've stayed in Residence Inn's many times, but always clean and updated. Oh, the manager did comp us a night :thumbsup2, but how I hated paying the $100 pet fee for a dirty carpet, having dogs that have no dander, do not shed and no accidents (we put down giant pads).

Yesterday Jackie's sutures were removed and she's good as new.:)
Thank goodness that's done!

Off to catch up on posts. Good to be back - missed reading all the goings on here. :thumbsup2

We knew to plan for at least double and we figured a lot would depend on weather...we got married 3 days before christmas. The lady who I asked to help me with food (my matron of honor's mom) is used to feeding huge groups so we did everything buffet style...sandwich makings on cresants through costco...lots of christmas cookies and salad stuff and a huge cake that we had 7/8 left after all was said and done...the food was GONE though. Everyone got some....but there was nothing left! We had one of the brides maids pack us a picnic basket full of food to take to the hotel because no one would leave us alone to eat, they kept wanting to take pictures, cut the cake, sign the documents, take more pictures, dance....at one point my dh's family wanted me to give up my chair for his aunt who was basically an invalid....my chair...the bride's chair...I mean really people! We had to bring out a bunch more chairs and the church was over flowing! Note to all who don't do it....please RSVP!!!! Whether it's a birthday party for a kid or a wedding, just RSVP!!!!

Sarah
Oh.........My..............Gosh!!!!!!! This is my worst nightmare! Marty's family does not believe in the RSVP either. It drives me bonkers!! They are a huge family, too, and you just never know who is going to show up.

Sounds like a perfect plan to me! And I'll try to keep my pants on. Did I go too far?.............

Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear about the problems with the hotel. But it sounds like the rest of the trip went well.

Oh my gosh. How old were you when you go them? I feel old going in the ortho office and everyone getting their braces adjusted being lunder 13.
I was about 13 years old, about 40 years ago!! :scared1: No wonder.....huh? :rotfl:

Heather, I read the recipe. It calls for putting them in the fridge when done. Won't that make them Schwetty? (Is that how you spell it?) :rotfl: OtheR than that, they do sound quite decadent!! :cloud9:
