Giraffe Restauraunts

anybody eaten at the one at Gatwick airport , any good...? looking for alternatives to the Hiltons offerings pre flight.

We ate there back in May, and find it to be normal Giraffe quality - i.e. pretty good. From what I recall it was pretty decent service too.

It's before security unfortunately so, you can't take your time too much as you still need to get through the queues for hand baggage checks, etc, but if you have plenty of time i'd suggest you give it a try.

We ate there in may as well and thought it was awful, very slow service and food was at best ok. I certainly wont try any others after that, it wasnt even that busy either

Did you not like the Hilton breakfast? We thought it was very good when we were there in February. It was the first time we'd had breakfast there and thought the choice was good. We normally go to Garfunkels after security but this can be a bit of a wait sometimes!! In October we have the V-Room with Virgin so will have breakfast there, which is OK...! To be honest I don't particually like eating before a flight as I get a tad nervous.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago and the food was lovely, in fact I think it was better than the Victoria one in London. The service was a bit slow but that didn't worry us as we were staying the night so not in any hurry. We'd definitely eat there again.

Looking at the Giraffe for an evening meal the day before we fly!, got the V-Room for breakfast on the day of the flight. We fly on the 26th, when do you go?

We did this in July (evening meal night before flight). It was really busy but I don't remember it being a particularly long wait; having said that we were not in a hurry. We all really enjoyed our meals & had a lovely waitress; when I asked if I could have a Giraffe (like the children on the next table) she bought me 4, one of each colour

Oh...sorry thought you meant brekkie..We are off to Vegas on 6th October and have booked the Hilton again. When we was at Gatwick in Feb they had closed, due to refurbishment I think, so many places and the choice of eateries was basically non existant. Went to the other terminal and ate in the pub there, which was ok!! Hopefully the restaurants have all re-opened again...
