Giordano's Pizza Questions

We were in K-town but moved to M-ville a few years ago; the Uno's is right down the street from us (in Marvyille) and it's yummy! :goodvibes

p.s. on the Giordano's---looked at their website and shows that you can have pizzas shipped!!!???:) Also googled it & even found coupons.

They will ship them, but the baking process in their oven is what makes the pizza. They also won't ship any pizzas with meat toppings/stuffings. So it would be veg all the way if you want one shipped to your home.

Does anyone know if Giordano's ever has frozen pizzas or half bakes? We will only be in Orlando one day before a cruise, and we already have our meals planned for that day.

I was thinking on the way back through to the airport, maybe we could stop and get a frozen or half bake for the trip home.

Would it be safe to put it in checked luggage? Could you put it in your carry on?

We found that it re-heated really well. We just covered the end crust with foil (which we keep in owners locker) so it would not burn.

I used to live in Chicago and there is nothing better than Giordanos pizza!:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestrucIt's heavenly!

I could never get it to taste good the next day (or even when delivered) so I always go to the restaurant where it is the best! (I'll try the hint about re-heating in the oven next time!)

I'm so excited there is a Giordanos in Florida! We are definately checking it out on our next trip!

I am so excited about Giordano's near WDW. My husband and I are originally from Chicagoland and LOVE Chicago-style pizza. Having lived outside of Chicagoland for nearly 6 years, any time we can get good Chicago-style pizza is a treat.

I am so excited to fly into MCO, order my pizza, check into the the AKL, and get my pizza! I might burst from excitement between now and September 18! :thumbsup2

This is good news to me too! I had my first taste of Giordano's in Chicago last summer--YUMMO! To find that I can have it in WDW makes me very happy :cool1: (Even if it isn't exactly the same, close is good enough!!)

So, you call and order...do they deliver right to your room? Or do you have to meet them in the lobby or something?

I'm interested in the response to this too. We will be staying at BWV in August and would like to order from Giordano's.

I'm also concerned with where Giordano's will deliver: to the room or to the lobby. We'll be staying at Old Key West in December. The resort is huge. It would be nearly impossible to get from where ever our room is to the lobby on my own (with a 2 yr old in tow) to meet the pizza guy, then get it back to the room in one piece & still hot. So if they won't deliver to the room, I'll need a plan B for our first night dinner. Anyone have experience with this. Or other suggestions for first night dinner with a tired, cranky toddler. We don't like Olivia's.

While we wait ever so patiently for an answer.... I have an alternative for your little one...I always pack a few packs of Kraft Easy Mac (very compact and lightweight). You make it with water (and I replace half the water with milk) in the microwave . . . my kids love this stuff and it's great as a quick something to get you through. At OKW you'll have everything you need to prepare it.

They delivered it to the room at OKW and SSR and delivered it to the lobby at AKL.

Ahh but Giordanos is straight from Chicago.

I have one three minutes from my house ;) I've never ordered a pizza from Giordano's while at Disney because we have it here so I can't say if it's as good in FL as it is here in Chicago, but it's pretty darn good in Chicago :cutie:

Oh, and in the battle of Giordanos vs. Unos, Giordanos will win every time. But neither are as good as Ginos (which isn't in FL...yet).

I second that no-good pizza in Florida. Or bread or rolls for that matter. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the water and the humidity / moisture in the air down there.

We stayed DVC at Jambo house and they delivered it to the lobby there (this was before Kidani was built). They would probably deliver to the lobby of Kidani too, but you may want to call and verify.

Which lobby do they deliver it to? We'll be staying in the Kidani DVC Studios our first night (thanks to some very awesome friends!):thumbsup2

Read all the reviews on here...and decided to order it on last trip. It...was... HORRIBLE.

Sauce (gravy!) had no taste, no spices/garlic/salt/pepper... cheese was... well, just "cheese"...there were no spices in that either.

Crust was similar in taste/texture to thick cardboard.

Will never order again.

We have ordered pizza from Giordanos several times while staying at Boardwalk Villas and met them in the lobby to get the pizza. One thing to consider, if you order a deep dish, plan ahead and order at least an hour to 1 1/2 hours before you want it to be delivered. Between cooking time and delivery time, it takes that long.
I've had leftovers that we stored in ziplock bags and froze. WE took them out right before flying home and placed them in the middle of the suitcase between clothes and it was still slightly frozen when we arrived home 5 hours later. It warmed up and tasted great and it was nice to not have to cook when we got home. :lovestruc
I love love love eating at the 192 location, and we always order the appetizer
platter with the fried mushrooms, cheesesticks and zucchini. Yum!
Oh, and I have eated at Giordanos in Chicago several times and I really can't tell any difference between the ones there and in Orlando.

I love stuffed pizza but for some reason I like Giordanos thin crust better than the stuffed Chicago style they are known for. I like the large, thin crust with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and mushrooms. And for you members who have not been able to find a decent pizza in Florida, I will admit that most are below average but there are a few local places that are very tasty. Lil Anthony's in Minneola is one of the best for a Florida version of a New York pizza.:cool1::banana:
