Hi,
We will be on the Nov 30 SJ to MIA repositioning cruise. Does anyone know what day they are doing the Gingerbread House making activity? Also, is it better or more fun to do it as a group or should we get individual tickets and each do our own? Sometimes those gingerbread walls will only stay up with four hands helping instead of two. Haha.

We’re on that cruise. I expect to have multiple choices for day and time to do the gingerbread house. I THINK the tickets are per stateroom, not per individual.

Depends on how well the group works together. On the cruise where we did one, we saw one couple whose marriage may have ended based on the argument they were having over their house. Ok, so it was my wife and me, and no, it wasn't really a marriage-ending argument, but she sure was mad about my poor construction skills. Which she continues to describe in great detail whenever the subject comes up.:D

There were 3 of us from 1 stateroom and after all had started I asked for a 2nd kit and was passed one of many extra kits they had stacked on-hand (ok a situation similar to gatordoc in I broke one side wall and to prevent a tear-fest and the need for lawyer fees, asked for a 2nd and gave my one wall to our youngest and DW). Youngest enjoyed the activity more as he had additional "glue" and decorations on and I never got in trouble as the 2nd mysteriously continually fell apart in the room mouthful by mouthful.

They list is as one per stateroom or family. They sometimes may give you an extra if you ask and they have them. But plan on doing it together.

I always try to get the earliest possible since you can't bring it off the ship.

The houses are already together you just add the candy with icing.

We have done it a few times now and each time the houses were NOT together, you have to assemble the pieces and decorate them. A pastry chef demonstrates on camera how to assemble the houses "properly" (there are some tricks to doing it so it works out properly or has the best chance of doing so) so you can follow along.

It is a family activity and all in the stateroom will need a ticket to attend. The last time we did this was December 2016 and my husband went to Nassau the day the kids and I did decorated the gingerbread house. I seem to recall having to have a ticket for the 3 of us. Go to GS upon boarding to get your tickets unless they change the process between now and then. :)
