Ginger Girl Birthday Getaway PTR: July 3-10, 2009

Hi, and welcome to my pre-trip report! I hope you'll be join me as we count down the days until our July trip!

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Me (Betsy, will turn 38 during our trip) soon to be divorced, mom to my only DD, addicted to the DISboards, love planning vacations – especially ones to WDW. This will be my 8th time at WDW. I'm the first Ginger (a redhead for those I'm confusing).

DD (Aubree, will turn 3 on the day after we check-in...my little 4th of July firecracker) my little red-headed princess who rules the house. This will be her 2nd trip to the World - although she did technically go when I was 8 weeks pregnant back in December 2005! She's a big Playhouse Disney fan - my little mini-me!

DN (Katie, will turn 16 a month before our trip) is my youngest niece. I've always promised to take her. Now that I'm going to be a single mom, she can help me keep Aubree entertained/wrangled on our trip. She lives in Minnesota with my oldest sister's family, and I believe her hair currently has a red tint - so I'll count her as a Ginger in name only. LOL

RESORT

We're booked at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort in a standard room. I'm really excited to stay here, and definitely appreciate the "buy 4, get 3 free" promo going on. One of my friends from work is going to be at CBR from July 6-11, so it will be great being there at the same time!

FLIGHTS

Just purchased our tickets on Southwest flying out of Indianapolis. Was pleased to find non-stop flights at a great price (a little under $598 for all 3 of us), and there's no baggage fee which is a treat. Of course, I'll keep checking our flights to see if the prices drop.

STROLLER RENTAL

I've reserved a City Mini single stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals. It's the same kind that I have at home, and Aubree loves riding in hers.

DINING

I've booked the Quick Service dining plan - so far I'm planning for a character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. The rest of the meals on our trip will be unscheduled.

TICKETS

We have the 7 day base tickets purchased with our package.

Booked two character lunches today. One on July 4th (Aubree's birthday) at Hollywood & Vine Play 'n Dine, and the other on July 8th at Crystal Palace.

Hi Farrah! So glad you found me. Don't be sad about the divorce - I am so much happier now! But seriously, we're signing the final papers, so hopefully it will be over soon. And most importantly, we're getting along pretty well which is helping Aubree deal with it. She and I just moved into a little house down the street from my parents earlier this month. It's great!

Hi, no I booked online with Disney. In the past, I booked through AAA to get both the AAA discount and the dining plan, but the buy 4, get 3 nights free was a far better deal this time.

Well, I am officially single as of May 8, 2009!! LOL

Received our Magical Express documents last week, and our package documents in today's mail. Makes everything seem so real! Can't believe we only have 29 days left.

It's hard to believe that in 2 weeks, we'll be checking in to our resort.

So... I was playing around with the online dining reservations this week. Booked a breakfast at 'Ohana for our last day (July 10th) AND just now booked a breakfast at Cinderella's for July 8th!!!

Just realized that I need to cancel our Crystal Palace lunch ressie on 7/8 since I made the Cinderella's ressie. Of course the confirmation number is in my Passporter at home!

Yeah - I messed around with them more last night. Canceled the Crystal Palace one since I had Cinderella's... then canceled Play n Dine so we could go to the 50s Prime Time. My niece thinks I'm nuts.

My coworker whose family is going at the same time was so sweet - she booked a lunch for all of us at Rainforest Cafe in the AK for my birthday.

I'm getting my hair trimmed and some red put back in today... tired of people asking if Aubree gets her red hair from her dad. UH ME TOO!!!!
