We arrived home yesterday after our 2-day drive back from NJ. I definitely do not want any long drives in my near future. Aubree was very good, and the portable DVD player was a big help. It will be going with us on our WDW trip for sure!
ONE THING WE LEARNED THIS PAST WEEK: Aubree does NOT like elevators
at all and screams & cries in them and if she thinks we're approaching one.

Thank goodness she was fine with the stairwells at our hotels along the way! She also hated the buzzer noise to let us into DH's parents building - same reaction as the elevator.
So... I called and put in a request for a ground floor room at the Polynesian and stated the reason. If it's not available when we go, DH will be carting her up the stairs.
Here's a pic of us in front of the NYC skyline after taking a 90-minute boat tour of Manhattan (yes, her stroller seat is tilting - I didn't have it latched right! OOPS!

). The tour was pretty cool, although it was right around Aubree's naptime and we hadn't eaten lunch yet (although I did try giving her snacks). Wouldn't you know, the captain sounded the boat horn and scared her to death - some screaming and clinging to DH before she went to sleep. She woke up shortly before the tour ended and acted just fine and also did great on the 2 ferries to/from the tour so I think the combination of the horn, naptime and empty tummy had something to do with it. Enjoyed a fun lunch at Fuddrucker's before leaving and all was well...
Will definitely make some decisions about WDW touring based on these experiences!
In other news - I was able to choose our seats on Northwest last night. Very excited... now I just have to wait another week to get the return flight's seats.
