We were at the BCV in Dec and they had a special ginger bread house event for the kids. It was free but I really think it was very fun and made my trip very special. Do they do other fun free events like this? The cheif was the greatest and my son really had a great time.

Anyone else go to this?

I really think that if DVC can give us that little extra special treatment, it will make the magic even better.

I've seen these events before and have never had the correct timing to take advantage of them. I never knew that they were free!!!:teeth: What did your son actually get to do? Did the kids get to eat them, or were they put on display of some sort? Has anyone else ever done something like this? I've seen this type of thing (I think it was also ginger bread something) at VWL too.

We tried to do it, but no luck. We saw the sign on Saturday, when we checked in, so the kids were really looking forward to going. On Tuesday, we took them down, but unfortunately it was already filled up, and we had some very disappointed kids on our hand as did several other families who couldn't get in.

Nice as it probably was for those who took part, sometimes Disney just doesn't seem to think things through. I think they should have said "limited enrollment," or they should have held it somewhere that would accommodate more people. As my son said, "It's not like we can catch it another day." It was only offered on Tuesday (during the 10 days we were there).

I am glad you all enjoyed it, though. It sounded like a fun thing for the kids.

281 days and counting . . . again!

We were at the BCV in December and we participated in this activity. It was wonderful! Each child received a ginger bread house already put together (it was alot bigger than we suspected) and plenty of candy to decorate the house with. Pastry chefs from the Yacht Club were there to help out too. When the children were finished decorating their houses they were given boxes to put their houses in. We put tissue paper all around our house and brought it home with us! It made it home safely and has been on display in our house. We hope it keep it for many years to come. I can't say enough about how wonderful this activity was!
