We had a pretty lengthy discussion going last week regarding ginger/ effects on motion sickness etc. I said that I had seen Ginger Altoids, but didn't remember where, etc....

Anyway, I found them today at Target-- I bought a tin. They're really not too bad, I actually like them, BUT.... they're pretty darn hot! Almost to the point of something like an Atomic Fireball (jawbreaker-type candy.) OK-- maybe not quite that hot, but I thought I'd warn everyone...

My dd8 would HATE them. She hates anything with a little heat.

Now... whether they have any effect on motion sickness remains to be seen. I'll be taking my Bonine (very faithfully!!!) next week, but I'll take my Altoids as a "just in case" tummy settler.... maybe I won't even need it. ;)

Here's to good times and strong stomachs!!!!

Can't speak for motion sickness but I do have them and take them when I have an upset stomach for whatever reason. They really do help (and I prefer taking something like that rather than a Tums or Pecid type medication).

You can also get ginger pills in the healthfood/vitamin section of your local supermarket.

Or your local drug store will have them too. That's where we get ours.

Gotta love Target!

Don't know about motion sickness but in my first few weeks of pregnancy they did sorta take the edge off my morning sickness -- until that got worse and I ended up on Zofran. Personally, I'm a Dramamine girl all the way!

Ohhhh! What memories that brought back. I was one of those "lucky" people who had morning sickness all through my pregnancy. The only thing I found that helped was an antacid gum (I can't remember the name.) I remember waking up in the middle of the night and popping that gum in my mouth!! I tried everything.... crackers, sea bands, etc, but nothing. The gum, as you said, took the edge off for me. I also sucked on peppermint candy.
