Ging Gang Goolie 2008, 23rd May, Tal-y-Bont On Usk

The coolbox Deb, we will have that with lots of ice in, and also the small fridge, we will be able to keep the butter in there. I have a great butcher but unfortunately he doesn't do burgers - we did find a really nice butcher in Brecon so we will be able to get some nice things from him on Saturday, there is also a nice butcher in Brecon Market. I will bring the milk, we can then put it in the fridge, also a big pot of coleslaw, I am trying to think of which bbq item I can bring that we will all enjoy, I will also bring coffee some more coffee - oh and Deb, I would love a kebab please, I am sure that Ian will too.

By the way, Carol, is there any chance you can bring a couple of saffron buns - pretty please :)

no probs me 'andsome (said with snozzle accent)

ooh and kebabs would be lovely for me and Cal please Debs! :worship:

I'll go through the list tonight with Theresa and see what blanks we can fill in.

Can we borrow an air bed pump please?

I have a fridge sorted as long as we can get an electric hook up.

Hi Tony

Did you want a pitch with electric then - we have a pump too so you will be spoilt for choice

Can also make some potato & rosemary bread, if you'd like - although it's best eaten the day it's made so we'd have to eat it Friday night.
Ooh, yes please - scrummy!

I can bring some puddings, if they're wanted.
I'll throw this one open to others, because I'm not that bothered.

I'll bring some hand gel.

I'm another who is not bothered by puddings, although I am sure some of the others would enjoy

List updated.

Matt and I have decided we won't have a pasty (or fudge) thanks, Carol. Much as we like them, we can probably do without them on top of everything else. Thanks for offering, though. :goodvibes

Oh, I meant to say that, other than Jules and Ian's super-dooper coolbox (which I've added to the list), I assume everyone else will just bring what they want/need in this respect. We'll have two bags and a box (plus loads of ice), but I think they'll be pretty much taken up with our own stuff.

I've just found this on their website:

Although no campfires are permitted on the campsite field (for health & safety reasons), we do have two fire-pits where you can sit around and enjoy a campfire.

We also allow barbecues on the campsite field.

Jules, do you think that means she has one available that we could use on the bottom field?

I will give her a ring and find out Deb, I know that they used to have a campfire area near where the yurt and tipi were meant to be sited - there were big logs to sit on and a fire area, this area seems to be unused now as they have built the super duper new shower block where the footpath used to be. It is certainly worth a phone call .. I will let you know

Deb, the cool box is not that super duper, once it has booze and ice in that is more or else it :lmao: we will bring lots of ice though, got to have cold vino

Carol, we have requests from three of our party for pasties please (if that's OK).

As far as desserts go, I will just make some rocky road bars as the kids (and me) love them. Otherwise, it's probably best if I don't make/bring anything which needs refrigerating so will probably bring some cake or something like that.

Same here!

I assume that the electric hook ups are permanent now on the field Jules - assuming we are in the same one that is?

thats right Matt, I have booked electric for us, you and Deb and Tam And Kev, I assume there will be some in the party tent as they mentioned fairy lights.

I just rang Gilestone they really apologise but unfortunately no more fire pits, I spoke to Mark he is the new manager,he has confirmed that it is £130 for the party tent and they are going to decorate it. He asked that when you check in you let him know you are with the party tent group (the 18ft tent). He said that he hopes we will join in with their entertainment, Valleys Radio are there all day on Sunday and they are having chariot racing, Sunday there will more or less be something going on all day.. They have a new hourly thing where we could go and see their Spanish Show horses who perform stunts!!, get a tour and see all of the animals, including llamas, have the opportunity to feed and pet the animals, it lasts for an hour and normally costs £25.00, they will do it for us for £20.00, so about a £1 each, let me know if this is of interest as I have to let him know beforehand - something to think of for Saturday afternoon maybe? I have to ring and let him know tomorrow. He is going to pop and see us all when we get there just to let us know what is going on over the weekend - he said no pressure, just doesn' t want us to miss something we may have found fun.
