I can't stop laughing, though I guess I should... For about a week my daughter has been calling me "Funnyboy". She is 5. I don't think she is doing it at all to be disrespectful. Part of me thinks I need to stop this, and part of it is so dang cute / funny.

I was talking to her today, at her height level, and all the suddens she says "Gimme a kiss, Funnyboy"...... :teeth: ..... but I was trying to talk to her about something semi-serious.

Let it go, and keep laughing, as a treasured moment, or reign it in now?

I don't see a problem with nicknames, it sounds like it is just becoming her pet name for you. My son calls me Babycakes or Sweetie Pie sometimes, and it is just what he calls me, just as my DH doesn't always call me by my name.

I don't have kids yet so no advice. But it sounds really cute :) . And if she isn't being mean or disrespectful with it then I guess it would be ok. Do you know where she picked it up from?

She told me that I am so funny that I am now "Funnyboy"..... :teeth: She and are good "buds".... but she knows I am "Daddy", first, and foremost...... I think. ;)

Ahhhhhhh. It's cute she feels comfortable enough with you to give you a nickname.

OFF TOPIC- We were hanging out with our friends yesterday, they have three little girls. The dad told us that when they had all got dressed and ready to leave to met us, he told the youngest ( 4 years old) she looked really cute and her reply was " Daddy you look like a clown." :teeth: We still aren't sure why she thought that but she didn't seem to mean it in a mean way.

Perfectly harmless and adorable!

Enjoy it while it lasts!!!

That is great! I would have had to leave the room from laughing.

Now let me share the story of my dd's 1st word. I was feeding her dinner (she was about 7/8 months old) and I wondered outloud "where is corey?" (dh) and she looked at me tilted her head and said Corey? Poor dh was not called "Daddy" for about a year and we tried to get her to switch-but it was Corey (we would say-this is daddy and she would look at us like we were nuts and say "no corey" )Then she switched to to Daddy's with the "s" because Corey always calles her Daddy's. Now he is Daddy. :cheer2: (cheer is from my dd)

I wouldn't change a thing!

DD9 calls her Dad 'Spunky', because he calls her Spunky Monkey sometimes. It is very cute and who cares if she calls the house when she is in college and asks if Spunky is home? That is what being a family is all about :-)

Last night, she come over to him as we were eating his b-day cake and kissed him on the forehead and said "Happy Birthday, Spunky. I love you!", like it was the most natural thing in the world. Very cute!
