Sunday, November 18
Sunday morning was uneventful we finished getting everything ready to go and had an hour or so to kill, but no energy to do much with it. We had planned to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge to take a look around at it, but just couldnt muster much walking around so we rode a bus to Animal Kingdom and hopped the bus to the Lodge just so we could drive past it and at least see it from a distance. It looks really lovely. When we got back to the resort, we checked out and had lunch at the Pepper Market before our 1:15 TTC pickup. Our return driver was David and he was really nice. He got us Skycaps at the airport who checked our luggage and gave us our boarding passes, cutting our waiting time significantly (as we saw when we entered the airport and gawked at the huge line). I felt like we were using our last Fastpass!
We got sodas at the food court and sat for a while, going over the little notebook Jan had been writing in all week laughing all over again at Here it comes there it goes! and Hairy Bird, I love you and all the other jokes/sayings we picked up during the week. Our flight home was relatively quick & easy and waiting for us at RDU airport were Jack & the kids, with such smiles and hugs! We all went out for dinner and Jan & I gave them the whole trip report and they loved hearing every minute of it. They all loved their presents, too.
Jan & I started planning this trip in February. During the 10 months or so of preparation, we heard all sorts of things. We were getting our hopes up too much & the trip wouldnt be able to live up to our expectations. We were two sisters who hadnt been together this long in years and never just the two of us wed fight like cats & dogs. My kids would get jealous/angry that we went without them. The WDW cutbacks would ruin our trip. Well, heres the summary: The trip exceeded our expectations every day. Jan & I had the best time ever and not one fight I couldnt have asked for a more fun travelling companion. Jack & the kids were almost as excited as we were & were there in spirit the whole week. In spite of reduced hours, we did everything we wanted (some two or three times!). All the CMs we encountered were friendly and wonderful and loaded with pixie dust. It was a perfectly magical week. Now when can we go back?
