After yet another great Pepper Market breakfast, we stop at Panchitos. Remembering the old adage A Coronado Springs visor in the hand is worth two zebra visors/denim bucket hats in shops that we cant find, Jan buys a CSR visor that looks great on her and were off to the Magic Kingdom! We headed first to Buzz Lightyear, then Alien Encounter, then got a Fastpass for Space Mountain and rode the TTA (such a relaxing ride!). We had enough time to tour Mickeys Toontown Fair, since Jan had never seen it. We walked around Minnies House and headed back to Tomorrowland, getting there just in time to ride Space Mountain with no wait, walking past a huge 30 minute line. (Fastpass rules!) Then over to Fantasyland, where we got a Fastpass for Winnie the Pooh and rode Snow White & Small World then headed back to Winnie the Pooh, which is just so cute. Now it was time for lunch, so we got Fastpasses for Peter Pans Flight before having lunch at Pinocchios Village Haus. When it comes to fast food, this is just about my favorite place to enjoy it probably because Pinocchio is my favorite movie.
After lunch the rain started but only a slight drizzle. We walked over and rode the Haunted Mansion, the came back for our Fastpass ride on Peter Pan. Then we headed over to the Hall of Presidents and caught the show. I love the detail in this attraction I wish I had the time to see all the little subtle things the non-speaking presidents are doing in the background. When we came out, the rain had a little more attitude, so we picked up a couple of ponchos and kept going. Soon, we were surrounded by little yellow ghosties. We headed over to Frontierland and got a Fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain, planning to come back after the 3:00 parade. We went ahead and rode Splash Mountain while we were there, and saw Country Bear Jamboree before staking out our Share a Dream Come True parade spot.
Well, the rain delayed the start of the parade. So we waited on the porch while the rain continued and when it slacked up a bit, the music started and the parade began. Well, this parade is just wonderful!! We cried but I think we were contractually obligated to cry at this one (from the many times we looked at pictures from it during our trip planning and cried), but mostly waved at the characters and loved every minute of it. In spite of the rainy weather, my pictures of this parade turned out great! Just looking at them now brings the whole thing back to me and I can feel like Im standing on the covered patio of Frontierland instead of sitting here at work pretending to be busy.
After the parade, we wandered over to Adventureland and saw Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and the Enchanted Tiki Room. By this time, it was time for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. This was another first for us but I will definitely eat here again! Maybe it was just because of the rain and the fact that the park was getting ready to close, but the restaurant was fairly empty and we had tons of character interaction, including Chip & Dale wrestling on the floor near us and Goofy asking me to dance! The food was wonderful, too! During the meal, Jan remarked that she wanted to wear her newly acquired Tigger, is that you? shirt when we came back on Friday for lunch at the Crystal Palace because (to quote Jan), Tigger can see it and Pooh! Well, try saying that out loud it just sounded like she expected quite a reaction out of Tigger! Another bout of hysterical laughter later, we left the Liberty Tree and rode Big Thunder Mountain (our earlier Fastpasses were nullified by the delay of the parade), then straight over to Main Street where we watched the fireworks from the courtyard right in front of Cinderellas Castle. Sigh
We left Magic Kingdom and took the monorail to Epcot, where we watched the Fountain of Nations dance (Im a confirmed Fountain-aholic!), rode Spaceship Earth and spent an hour or so in Innoventions, then caught a bus back home for a good nights sleep.
Tomorrow: Disney-MGM Studios!
