Ladies, I'm in desperate need of some suggestions. I have 27 days left and still have not been able to come up with gifts for our parents and something to give DF on our wedding day. I was going to present parent gifts at our rehearsal dinner along with gifts for our BM and MOH. I want to give something really special, but i'm running out of time and ideas. Also, I can't think of anything to give DF on the wedding day. We've already talked about exchanging gifts, but I'm not sure what to give him. Any suggestion? What have you ladies done for gifts, if any? Please help!

I know how hard it is to pick out a gift. I have asked my parents what they would like as a gift, and they just tell me to be happy and when we are ready, they would like a grandchild. So they aren’t much help. I would pick something they can keep with them always like jewelry or photos of your big day. Maybe a photo album.

For my DF I am thinking of getting him a watch. There is one he saw that he really liked but for what ever reason didn’t buy. So I am thinking of picking it up and having it engraved. Maybe with our wedding date and an I love you.

Is there anything your parents have said in passing that they want? Maybe money for a trip? Are they into day spas? That might be relaxing after your big day.

I got my DF a King Arthur sword and crown. It's something to say he is my Prince Charming. And I arranged for us to go on a Wishes Cruise. Here is what I did for his parents. They are kinda a sore spot for me because they have only made wedding planning harder.

I think I might give my parents a Gift Certificate for something to do on their own at Disney.

I am getting my parents a nights stay in the Grand Floridian when we go down for the wedding and I will get them a photo album, for my fi I think that I am going to get him one of the framed collectors pin sets,we are so into collecting the pins.

Do you really need to get them a gift before the wedding? I understand that you are thanking them for their help, but I am waiting until after the wedding to give my fiances parents a gift. I am going to create a photbook of our wedding pictures and family photos taken during the wedding because I think that would be a lot more meaningful to them. They already have so much suff that, like you, I would have no idea what to get them.

What about buying a piece of art from Disney and framing it? I know I have seen pictures of resorts and the theme parks that are beautiful. If there is one of where you are getting married or from the hotel you are staying at that would be nice.

I was reading the Anti-Bride's Guide to Wedding Ettiquette last night -- it says that gifts from the bride to the groom and vice-versa are a recently instituted ploy by the wedding industry to make more money and that you should just put the money toward something you'll both enjoy, like the honeymoon! :rotfl:

That said, I think your groom and the parents would love something that enhances their experience at WDW during your wedding, like a gift card to use for a carriage ride at Port Orleans or a spa treatment or a Mickey Head ice cream bar! :)

I just had to say I laughed at this. Not because it is not sweet or reasonable, but because I pictured my parents asking for a grandchild. If they did, I swear I would scream. :scared1: (We're not big on the kids thing, just on being big kids).

Anyways, we decided to get my parents something that they would not only treasure, but actually use on a regular basis. We are going to get them a Nintendo Wii. Last time my parents were in town my Dad played ours for hours. He absolutely loved the thing. We are going to give it to them before the wedding...we don't want his parents getting jealous!

How cute. I can't really imagine either of my parents playing Nintendo. We're such a "disney" family. I used to work there, my mom works for the Disney Store, DF's family works for Disney, my parents are VC members. We've pretty much seen it all and done it all. I'm trying to come up with something out of the ordinary, but I'm lacking in ideas.
