For our honeymoon I would like to plan a surprise event for my then husband and I got this suggestion from Gifts of a Lifetime. I've never used them for anything before so I am looking for feedback on their special 'event' gifts. It sounds like it's a great idea, definitely unique, but I want to make sure that it plays out as well as it sounds before I confirm it. We'll have our 3 month old daughter with us if it makes any difference. Thanks for any suggestions!

We have used Gifts of a Lifetime twice (not for your event) and never been disappointed! They are amazingly clever and sneaky as their pixies work their magic in the park.

That sounds like a really neat idea. I'd like to hear anyone's story about their using Gifts of a Lifetime for something like this and how it worked out.

What are the specific events that they will do?

How does one arrange this and how much does something like this cost?

(And how much time will your hubby be egg hunting :)

I used them for my wife's birthday and I have a trip report to cover it. Follow the link for the Thanksgiving trip. It is part 9a and 9b.

She really had a great time.

Lisa loves Pooh, I went to www.giftsofalifetime.com and they have a request sheet you fill out with lots of info about the person the surprise is for. Then after you submit it, the gifts of a lifetime people will respond with some options. They gave me this one and a romance decoration package. Since our baby is with us, I don't think an evening with a 3 month old can be romantic so that didn't seem too practical. I'm not sure about the length of time involved yet, I haven't gotten specifics back from Jane yet, but I'll post back more info once I get it.

We used Jane for an event in February and it was AMAZING:D :D :D It lasted 2+ hours and took us around MK and onto 3 rides. Jane did a fabulous job of including everyone. We had my DD8, DN7, DN3, DBIL, DSIL and I. They all beleve in magic now. Even the grown ups were involved.

I actually had to write Jane an apology note after we returned as I was so ingrossed in the activity (even though I knew it was all a setup), that I got annoyed at one of the decoys not realizing she was a decoy and just thinking she was a rude person that kept stepping into my group.

I don't regret a penny of what I spent and can't wait to surprise the other side of the family with another top notch event.

Sounds cool--

too bad I am a SAHM (stay at home mom)--makes it harder to spend money on surprises when hubby sees everything (we bank online)....but that is way super cool....it would be neat have someone else suggest surprises for a change---do they charge for a consult--or just when you purchase a package.

BTW--when your "hunt" took you on 3 rides--did you have FP/line jumping privileges, or was waiting in line part of the fun?

No charge unless you book.

We did not have FP but they obviously know the flow pretty well, we did three rides that all had under 10 minute waits.

I too am currently a stay at home mom, but I do keep a separate credit card just for things like this. Of course, this surprise is something that I will likely not do again for many years, but the credit card has come in handy for brithday, Christmas, etc. gifts. I know this isn't an option everyone would consider, but it works well for us so I thought I'd suggest it.

I have also used Jane for several surprises! She was wonderful! My DH got a surprise for his 40th b-day, my oldest DD for her 16th B-day, and one of my DS's for his 7th B-day! WE also had a wedding vow renewal with Jane! All of these were wonderful! and such great memories! Worth EVERY penny! Jane will go out of her way to do what ever you want.

I used Jane for my son's birthday. She arranged an incredible scavenger hunt at MGM. He was (and still is) very into Indiana Jones. She had me come to a special pin stand where she sneaked up and dropped an Indy hat on him (part of the package). Attached to it was the first clue. The clues were scattered around the park - some had treats attached like FastPasse, some did not, but each one lead you to the next. It was very clever. We ended up at the lockers. DS and I had never used a locker at MGM and couldn't figure out that last clue. She and her family were following us around and quickly figured out we were stuck - Jane 'bumped in to me and whispered LOCKERS' so I was able to get my then 10 year old to the lockers. We found the appropriate one, opened it and out fell all kinds of Indiana gifts, a t shirt, etc. Then Jane and her family appeared to sing Happy Birthday to my delighted child. To this day he STILL talks about how much fun that trip was. Jane is a special lady and worth every single penny she charges.

I used her to take photos of myself and my husband on our honeymoon. My husband HATES to be photographed and after all the wedding photos I though there was no way he would pose for pictures in the park with me.
Jane did the best she could to blend in among the crowd but my husband who is the son of a police Lieutienent and one of the most observent people I know spotted her right away and was getting more and more pissed off when he saw here everywhere we were.
We finally had to break the surprise to him early and she then took photos of us on all the rides and back at the Grand Floridian.
While I really liked her as a person, she did bring her two children along with her as assistants that day and some of the photos they took were not quite in focus or the quality that I would have liked.
I've honestly heard nothing but good stuff and I would actually consider using her again despite some of the bad photos. I think I'd give her my camera to use!

I used Jane/Gifts of a Lifetime to propose to my wife at MK back in 2000...as the Pixie requested a few posts back, I won't go into detail; however, it lasted 2-3 hours and took us almost around the entire park with 4-5 souveniors of the event! Jane even took pictures of the actual proposal and didn't even charge me extra :) Definitely worth every penny...we're back next month for an early 3rd anniversary! Jane might be getting a call from me any day now!
