I have booked a villa at VWL for my parents for a few days in January -- we will not be joining them this time. I'm thinking I would like to give them tickets to a show, or maybe a dinner, as a Christmas gift. They've already seen Cirque du Soleil. They will not have a car, nor do they expect to visit any parks. Any suggestions on a nice gift I can give them for use during their stay?

Give them either a carriage ride or the dinner show (hoop de doo), both located at Fort Wilderness, an easy stroll or boat ride from VWL.

I can't recommend Hoop de doo enough, especially since they are a boat ride away.

I will echo the same sentiments I read over and over before I went this past may. It is an old fashioned kitchey or cheesy humor which as a grumpy cynical guy figured I'd hate every minute of. I begrudgingly went as my DW wanted to go, and you know what? ... I loved every minute of it. It was one of the highlights of our trip for me and our two year old. I can't wait to go again.

Already mentioned, but I am suggesting Hoop de Doo myself. Can be booked in advance and must be paid for when booked-actually paid for, not just held with a credit card. Descent meal with beer/sangria included.

:) I too think they will love HDDR. You could also give them a gift certificate for a photo album on their return. Another option would be to suggest an evening with Yee Ha Bob at PORS. He is terrific and a lot of fun. There is lots of audience participation. When they are finished they can take a bus or boat to DTD for the ride back to the resort.

I am taking my parents ( 71 and 76) to see Bob in May. They enjoyed HDDR as well.
