Normally I have all of my Christmas shopping done by now. However, we had NINE people come in for Thanksgiving week and into the week after Thanksgiving. That has put me behind with my Christmas preparations. I have finished shopping for the kids.......finally! However, now I have to get DH's present(s). I really want to get him something great because he is such a wonderful man! I love him so much, and he is so good to me. He tells me every year to not buy him anything. Typically he and I really don't exchange big gifts. We normally do dinners out and small things. That is fine for this year, too. I just really wanted to get something that he likes. He has mentioned wanting a new heavy coat so if I can't think of something more special that is what I will get. I will be shopping tomorrow so I have another day to think on it. I thought that I would ask the here --- what are some gifts that guys would really love to get?

***Let me add that I know that everyone's personality is different so a perfect gift for DH may not be a perfect gift for someone else. I just thought that if I could get a bunch of different gift wishes from other guys that it may give me an idea.
Also, DH is works in an office so a good office gift idea may be perfect. He also likes to deer hunt. He is also an action movie guy.

My DH's surprise gift is a hoodie from DS's high school football team. (DS told him they were sold out, and felt bad for lying about it!) Maybe you could get him some apparel from a favorite sports team? Or is that overdone?

I'll be watching this thread for more ideas, too.

Gift card to Home depot or Lowe's. Tell him to go pick out a new tool. :teeth:

I got my DH a leather coat and gloves. The prices right now are great.

What about Satellite radio, ipod, camera, surround sound system for the TV- men love their electronics? Men are hard to buy for.

Good luck!

Would he use a hand-held GPS system at all?? If nothing else it's a cool tech toy in a variety of price ranges (with a variety of features so I'd do a little reading up on them). Could you tie that into deer hunting maybe?

How about something that he could use for target practice.

I had gotten my dad and husband the no battery type flashlights from L.L. Bean.

Jennifer S, I did think about a portable satellite radio that he could carry from his vehicle to office. He has to travel for work, and he loves to get the rental cars with the satellite radio. I do know that he would love that. He just put a surround sound system (with the XM radio built into the receiver) in our house. The satellite radio is an idea.
Also, PlutoPony, your GPS is a good idea. It seems like he did look at those once at our sporting good store because of hunting. I guess I could look at that store and see what they recommend.

This is exactly what I need!!! Keep the ideas coming. This is helping so much! :cool1:

I got DH a pair of binoculars. I don't have a clue what he will really use them for but I know he has mentioned in the past that he wanted them.

My husband likes the Trans Siberian Orchestra so I am putting one of their CD's that he doesn't have in his stocking. Of course I had to lie and tell him that he had all of them already. :teeth:

We really don't do gifts to each other anymore at Christmas, just a mutual gift. We are getting an electric smoker this year. Does he like to do that sort of thing? This will be our second one. My husband really enjoys smoking briskets, chickens, etc. You can get them at Lowes for under $60 here.

I'd love to give my husband a leather bomber jacket one year. I know that he would like it but he really wouldn't wear it so it would be a waste of money.

I got DH a 6 month subscription to a wine club. Every month, he'll get two bottles of wine delivered to the house. He'll love it!

Your husband likes to deer hunt? So does mine!! I bought him a pair of binoculars with the camera built in. He wants to use it for hunting! I got it off of the Cabelas website, but I think Sports Authority and Eastern Mountain Sports has them as well. The pair I bought is waterproof, it set me back about $200.00, but they have ones that are not as expensive. My 2nd choice to get him was going to be a "laser sight" for his rifle, supposedly this is also a really good hunting gift according to my DF.

What do you do with the binocular/camera hunting? I am sorry.....I just don't know a lot about it. I was going to buy him the double seater deer stand. I knew that he wanted it. However, our sporting good store put an excellent coupon out about 3 weeks ago and he went to buy it! That messed up my gift idea! Now I am last minute trying to figure out what to do. If I knew that he could really use the binocular/camera then I would probably get it because it seems different. We do have a Sports Authority here.

I, too, am looking for something for my DH. There have been some great suggestions here. One thing my DH has liked in the past that I haven't seen mentioned yet is a spa gift card. That may seem odd, and my DH wasn't too sure about it the first time he tried it, but he's hooked now. We don't go often for massages, but he loves to get this gift at Christmas.

I also like the ipod, satellite radio and wine club ideas!

DH wanted noise cancelling head phones for his ipod and computer. He will be flying to Iraq in February and its a long flight. DS20 bought him a new black leather office chair for the den.

Another idea is those atomic clock wireless indoor/outdoor thermometers. You can get them in all price ranges. My husband is also a hunter and I picked up a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer without the clock for him today.

I got DBF an mp3 player that "wasnt" a christmas gift.

But today, since he works outside, DD and I picked him up some cold weather under armor- since your DH hunts- you might want to look into the under armor clothing line. They have "hot weather" and "cold weather"... I wear the cold skiing, and since DBF cant wear a jacket due to the bulk and the chainsaw, the under armor will help keep him warmer, with less layers.

I picked up a Polo fleece pull over, and a couple champion hoodies as well...along with Polo Black....too bad for him, he thinks he doesnt do christmas LOL wait till christmas morning :rotfl2:
