I am trying to shop for a birthday gift for a 9 year old girl. I am not sure what girls this age want. She has asked a MP3 player from her parents so I am not sure if she will like Barbies and stuff anymore. For those of you who know please give me some ideas. I am not looking to spend more than 25$.

Jewelry making kits like this

These Klutz books are always a hit with my children and their friends(my dd is 8 and is getting a few for the holidays)
And yes she is beyond Barbie(probably)
My DD also love Limited Too stuff- like belts, pocketbooks, room stuff....
Oh she just got this from my SIL and she loves it

Target has that on sale with the coupons they just mailed out(I think it was $3 less)

My DD just turned 9 on 11/14. She still plays with Barbies (although she prefers "My Scene" dolls). Bratz dolls are pretty popular with her peers too. She received a Bratz as a late b-day gift yesterday and immediately opened it and played with it. She also loves music - just received Now That's What I Call Music #19 CD and loves it. She asked for Madagascar on DVD, as well as Herbie Fully Loaded (she received Herbie and will get Madagascar for Christmas). Her big b-day gift was Ninento DS and Nintendogs which she has been playing almost constantly since receiving it. The Nintendogs game is about $30 though, and the girl you're buying for would already have to have the DS system. Those Klutz activity kits are very popular and fun. We have a make your own window cling kit and just bought a make your own charm bracelet kit for DD's cousin, who turns 9 this weekend. DD also asked for an iDog (as mentioned by someone else). You can hook a portable CD player to the iDog if she doesn't have an mp3 player. Hope these ideas help!

$23.84 right now.

Hard to find...they're where the Yagomatchi [sp] things are.

My dd is 11 and she asked for
Pixel Chix
Trollz
Bratz - Wild Wild West
Ice Princess DVD

Here is what is on my DD8's list:

Dog (ya right!)
MP3 player
pretty rocks
disney dream sketcher
magnetix
disney scene it
hover copter
moon shoes
doodle bear
cd player
dance mat

I'm done shopping for her and she got some stuff on her list and some not (like the dog) :dog: She's always happy with anything! Hope this helps with ideas. Merry Christmas!

I would get her a gift certificate for Claire's.

Hi!

Here's my DD9's list...she's still very much into toys!

American Girl doll Felicity and ANYTHING from this store
Polly Pocket Snow Ski Chalet
Gameboy Advance
Double doll stroller from A.Girl
Littlest Petshop Whirlaround Playground
Aly and AJ cd
Dream Life
Clue
Disney Scene It game
(of course, she isn't getting ALL of those things!)

Always popular - gift cards to Claire's and Target, purses, girly stuff like jewelry, lip gloss, etc., latest dvd

Happy shopping!

How about dreamlife....it is 29.99 at toys r us and they have the $5.00 of coupon.

My daughter is 10 and these are some of the things on her list.
dreamlife
moonshoes
magnetix
20Q game
mall madness game
disney mix stick
clue game
DS and games

My dd (turning 9 in Jan.) has asked for the following:

American Girl Today Doll (one that looks like her) and outfits
Furby
Any Make-up kit (for playing with, not for wearing out of the house!)
Scamp My Playful Pup
Teen Trendz dolls
Pixel Chicks
Polly Pockets Sno Ski Chalet
etc...

She also likes Magnetix and Legos.

Good luck! While she seems more interested in "older things" (she asked when she could get a cell phone, for example--umm, not any time soon!!!), my dd still loves to play with dolls, and she's very interested in dressing them in many different outfits, some of which she designs and makes herself. She got a cute kit in which she could draw clothes on pictures of dolls--not sure of the make, but it's fun for her.

Have a good holiday!

Are her parents getting her that Mp3 player? An iTunes gift card might be nice (they have them at Target).

My dd would love a gift card to Clairs or Limited Too.

My dd is turning 8 in two weeks, and here is her list:

Pixel Chix
Doodle Bear
Twister Moves
Teen Trends doll (there are several)
Polly Pocket Snow Cool Hotel
Herbie Fully Loaded (can't go wrong with Lindsay Lohan, lol)
Care Bears
Twinkle Lights Cinderella doll

FYI, at ToysRUs on Saturday we found a Magic Kingdom game for her, which sounded really cool - you go around a board and ride Space Mountain, BTTMR, etc. - it has all the rides at MK! Thought you DIS'ers might want to know about it, because I'd never heard about it and it went right in the cart! :rotfl:

I got my DD who was almost 9 at the time a karaoke machine last year. It's been the BEST, most played with gift I've ever given her. I think I paid $29 at Wal Mart. I saw some for cheaper just last week but I bet they were Black Friday deals.

My DD 9 isn't asking for much but she did ask for the Polly Pocket Snow Cool Hotel which I found on clearance at Target with another bonus Polly Pocket set attached for an unbelievable $15.38. There were some regular sets of the Snow Cool Hotel with out the bonus on the bottom shelf priced at $29.99.

My DD9 Loves
Bratz
Polly Pocket
Hillary Duff
scamps my playful pup
Mcflurry Maker
Play make up and nail polish
kareoke machine

My dd- 10 got a claires gift card for her birthday and said it was the greatest gift ever.

My DN 10 asked for:

CD's--- Kelly Clarkston, Rascal Flatts
slipper socks
"slippery pants" what she calls athletic pants :goodvibes
20q game
gameboy games--Lizzy McGuirre, That's So Raven
shoes

She is not a "girly girl". So no makeup or dolls for her.

My vote hands down with having 2 girls ages 10 & 11 is the Claires GC.
2nd would be socks,, the fuzzy ones and makeup!
Or even a gift certifacte to the nearest mall.. I know my girls are picking up my habbits of shopping at the mall....

I got my 9 yo niece the new American Girl perfume at Bath and Body Works. It is very light and clean smelling. She is starting to get into that sort of thing. I think I paid $20 something for it. It came with a free American Girl compact too!
