Ok, budget minded question here. My husband needs to buy nine gifts for his managers at work. We'd like for them to be cheaper but not look cheap. :goodvibes

Any ideas? We've tossed around a few ideas but can't think of anything good. I'm running out of time, because of course it will be me out shopping for it.

We're thinking $10 (to $15) or less would be even better. Something suitable for work that doesn't look like we spent that on it......

TIA

If you don't find anything else, you can never go wrong with a box of chocolates :thumbsup2

I went to CVS last night and got $9.99 boxes of candy for $7.99 and B1G1, so 4 boxes for $17. We use these as neighbor presents, teacher, bus driver, etc.

Put together some small gift bags/baskets with a coffee mug, coffee and/or tea and/or hot cocoa samples (depending upon the preferences of the giftee), cookies/biscotti (home-made would probably go over really well), and maybe a small GC to a local coffee shop. You can get nice travel mugs for cheap at Kohl's (I just got one for $3.44), Target, or Big Lots, etc. Same goes for the coffee samples.

Or a breakfast basket. High end pancake mix, syrup, packaged shelf stable meat, coffee sample, etc.

We have a local store, Ocean State Job Lot, that has high end food samples for cheapy, cheapy which always go over well. If you have something like that around it's a great way to fill a basket for nothing.

My DH does yankee candles (that were on sale, of course) for the women and lottery tickets for the guys. It goes over really well. Good Luck!

Do you have a Trader Joes? If so they have reasonably priced wine and lots of goodies you can make a basket with. Everyone likes food :) and it doesn't look like a cheap gift at all.

QVC has 5 led flashlights for $19.?? and they look like a nice gift. I know you would still have time to order them and receive them before Christmas.

I always make a batch of truffles for DH's coworkers. They are a huge hit, and if you package them nicely, they ook (and taste!) like a fantastic gift. I can make a triple batch for about $20, then pick up pretty boxes at Michael's or JoAnn's for about $10, and that gets me at least 12 gifts for people.

I'm a teacher and I have a paraprofessional (aid) in my class, I'm baking goodies (cookies, brownies, fudge) and giving them to her in a nice xmas tin I bought at Ikea. She has younger children so I'm including enough for them too.

What about bringing in or ordering breakfast for everyone one day? Some bagels, danish, cream cheeses, box of DD coffee (if there is none in the office). You could probably put something together for everyone for less then $40.

I'm going to suggest something different. For our teachers this year, I got them each a compact Totes umbrella. I found them at Ross (or TJ MAxx) for $7 each. I thought that this would be unique and something that would be used. An idea for something different anyway...

I have the same dilemma each year. I have 9 people who report to me that I need to get gifts for, but of course this adds up and I have a mix of men and women.

Things I have done in the past are:
Package of snowman/Christmas mugs (usually 2) with hot chocolate mix
Bottle of wine from Trader Joes ($2.99) and a couple of wine glasses
Bottle of wine from Trader Joes and wine charms
Gloves and scarves (get them on sale at Old Navy)
Homemade Irish Cream liquor in a pretty bottle with some homemade treats
Ornament and chocolates

This year I got $5 chocolates at Godiva the day after Thanksgiving, so I am giving that with a bottle of wine.

Hope this helps spark some ideas. The wine is always appreciated and if they don't like the kind, they can usually use when company is over or regift (in my opinion).

Perhaps a movie night basket? you can find an inexpensive but fun movie, add a box or two of movie size candy, a package or two of micrwave popcorn and a few cans of soda (or beer or wine). you could also put together a nice "a night in, which is a take on this but add a fuzzy blanket or some hot chocolate.

good luck

I have approx 30 people that either I support or support me. I bake a variety of home-made cookies and make up little gift bags for everyone. I'll be baking all this weekend. For me, I'm able to "gift" a ton of people for a bit over $100 in ingredients. They went over so well last year, that people have already started to ask when this year's batch will be arriving. :thumbsup2

I like the breakfast idea, or lunch for the office. I think that would be a great gift.

I buy jumbo whole fancy cashews in bulk at Costco/ sams club and package the nuts in one pound decorative Christmas tins, wrap in cello wrap and ribbon. End cost is about $6 each.
