Gift for baby shower question...

Help!

My Brother and SIL is having a baby shower this weekend. Its for their second baby (they didn't have a shower for the first, so this is her chance to finally have one). Their first baby was a girl this one will be a boy.

What do you give to at a shower when its there second baby?

I'd hate to give something they already should have (from the first time around), but then who knows what has been lost/ruined/etc. The only thing I can think of is boy-themed things, but i'm not really into gender themes. What are somethings that you needed replaced when you had a second kid?

car seats that are more geared for new babies.....the exosaucer ...did they have that ....a new playpen.....look and try to remember what they had for their first baby.....
if the first child is not very old.....how about getting someone to chip in and get a tandem stroller......ask your in law to register at a childrens store.....always a good idea.......then others will know too what to get.....and I am already buying BOYS stuff for my soon to be born grandson

My friend is going through this exact same thing. I asked her what she wanted and she said there are new gadgits out there, (she would register for them) but also boys things and diapers!

car seat for either child- convertible kind will grow with the younster. I was going to suggest a tandem stroller too, definitely find someone to help chip in , unless you want to spend that much on your own. Babies need lots of clothes, maybe gift certificates to trendy shops (Baby Gap, Gymborie, Babies R Us, etc.).

Boppy pillows are great for mom's or babies.

A baby monitor if they don't already have one (maybe they could use a second?). Will they need a second highchair or piece of furnitre, you didn't mention how long it's been since they had the first child.

What about coupons for babysitting service provided by you?

Onesies! Lots and lots of onesies and jamikins!
And she's probably going to get a lot of newborn clothes, so clothes in a bigger size (like 6-9mos) would be appreciated.
And maybe a warm fleece pram suit

I dont have a specific idea but I just got a Babies R Us catalog in the mail and there were lots of things in there. There was a baby gym type toy that the baby kicks with its feet and it makes sounds, plays music etc. There were lots of coupons in the back of the catalog too.

My cousin adopted a baby from China last fall, and one of the gifts that everyone really got a kick out of was a wipe warmer. Baby wipes can get pretty cold, so now they have something to warm them up.

It's a novelty gift, but it could be useful.
