I am wantin to purchase prepaid gift cards for my daughters for our upcoming US/IOA trip. Do they take Visa, Am Ex and MC or just one of them? Thanks in advance for your answers! You guys have been helpful in planning our first trip to Universal! Can't wait!!!:goodvibes

I know the take master card cause thats the offical credit card of us but they also take visa and discover unsure about the rest and have a great time I know I will cause we will be there june 4

I use my AE so I know they take that!

Are you buying them Amex or MC gift cards? I have always heard that when you buy those when they use them they are charged a fee. I am not sure if you are talking about Universal gift cards or the credit card ones. I always get the travellers checks.

There are MC and Visa prepaid cards that charge an initial activation fee of $2 but no per charge fee. I have heard of Universal Gift cards on this forum but I can not locate them. I have looked at CVS and Publix.

I have heard alot about the Universal Gift cards. Where can you get them? I read a previous post that said Publix and CVS, but I cant find them in GA at those places. Any other ideas? My girls will feel "special" to get their "own" card to use for their souivies!:goodvibes

We always use either the pre-paid Amex travel card or the pre-paid MC travel card from AAA. We have used them in the gift shops, the restaurants and even the carts that take cc. They are similar to the gift cards as they are pre-paid MCs and Amex's.

We have never had a problem using them anywhere in the parks, City Walk or the resorts. Never had a fee either.

The only thing you can't do is use them at check-in for your hotels. For that, they want a regular card. Although you can use them to check-out. However, I am betting you are not planning on having your daughters use the gift cards for the hotels :teeth:

Your daughters should be fine with the gift cards.

Thanks! I think we will do the prepaid Am Ex cards. Yea, I wish they did have their own little trust fund card to pay the hotel bill! That would be awesome!:yay: I guess we will have to foot the bill again! Maybe in about 15 years they can "treat " us!;)

I'm in Biloxi right now and saw them at a Gulfport Wal-Mart Supercenter last night. They were on a hanging rack (near the express checkout) with a lot of other gift cards for restaurants and Visa/etc. gift cards. You might check the major Wal-Mart store in your area.
