Gift Cards/Magic Bands

I apologize if this isn't on the correct board....

We received a couple of Disney Gift Cards for our upcoming trip (yay!). Resort and Tickets are already paid for so we will be using the gifts cards for dining, shopping, etc. We love the ease of using our Magic Bands to pay for things. Is it possible to use the Magic Bands and then pay the balance before we check out with our gift cards? or when we use the Magic Band, is it automatically charged the credit card on file? Is there a way to use the Gift Cards with the convenience of the bands that I am not thinking of?

Yes, you can pay off your charges with gift cards. We stop by the front desk a couple of times each trip and do this. Just be sure you do it no later than the night before you check out as your credit card will be processed overnight.

Yes, like the PP says, just go to the front desk to apply the gift cards prior to midnight the night before check out. I usually don't like to let it go until the last minute because there's too much going on right at the end, i.e. packing to go and trying to enjoy the last night of our vacation.

You bet....we did it with ours on our trip.

Just like the OP have said just go to the front desk at your resort and have them apply your GC's towards your charges that you made on your Magic Bands.

Each resort category has a number at which they will charge your CC (it used to be $500 value, $1000 mod, $1500 deluxe don't know if those are current numbers) so make sure you use your GCs before you hit those thresholds!!

But it's easy to do. Occasionally you wil find a CM who will add all GCs so you will have a credit but they are few and far between! Remember to keep all GCs in case you need to return something too.
