I came home yesterday i stayed at all star movies i stayed from monday to saturday they offered me a $40 giftcard for skipping housekeeping which i did not take i'm on vacation i want my room clean

Do they allow you to skip some days and not others? We’ll be there 8 days. I could see only having them come twice.

$40 for that length of time would not be worth it for me. Maybe if they came Thursday to change the towels and do a spruce up but if I'm paying what I would be for that long, a measly $40 wouldn't justify not having a clean bed and fresh towels.

I agree. A big part of vacationing at the lovely Disney resorts is the pleasure of coming back to an attractive and clean room after a tiring day at the parks.

As for those who would much rather drink than have a clean room, well, I guess that attitude speaks for itself.

From my understanding (although this is all still a trial-period) they do empty trash and bring fresh towels every third day. Also they do a full cleaning on day 5 and ....maybe on days 9 and 13? There is a trash bin nearby if you want to empty your own trash more often, and you can always call for more towels, etc on any day.

IMO, worth it! When I go in June I intend to ask for it if I am not offered it at check in.

I am glad it is an OFFER and not a FEE-FOR-SERVICE. Makes it a win-win for everyone instead of a lose-lose.

Agree that it's an offer and not all across the board, very good point.
We were at POR in August, our trash was taken out daily but Recycle bin remained. Our towels that we left on the tub were removed and fresh towels were added. We were only there for 4 days. Not sure if we were not the norm but our mousekeeper did a great job from the fun little scenes she created with our kids' animals to the bed making, to me it's well worth it on my vacation to have a clean room when I return.

I could find $40 in savings else where on my trip but I wouldn't want mousekeeping sacrificed.

What attitude? And how do you know that their room isn't clean? Some people are, by nature, extremely clean and tidy. Before we had our son, my husband and I didn't "need" housekeeping, but I do enjoy coming back to a fresh room, so we always had them come.

If I were on vacation with my spouse or a friend or someone other than a toddler in diapers, I'd consider taking the money. Many people can keep their hotel rooms livable for a couple of days. After all, people don't change their sheets or clean their bathrooms daily at home. And who cares what they spend the extra $ on

We took the giftcard while staying at Pop in September. We were only in our room long enough to sleep. They did come in and deliver towels and more toiletries, and take trash without us having to ask, which was nice. I loved it. $50 towards spending money!

We just got back from Disney yesterday (All Star Sports), my friend was the one who checked us in, so she took them up on the $40...I woulda declined it, but hey, we got half of our Tusker House paid for! They were very quick with towels when we called...
