Hello there,

I'm still a newbie to the DISboards and a newbie to planning for a Disney World trip with kids.

2 main questions:
1) Gift Baskets -- I've heard a little about them and seen a couple of pics. What are these and what options are available? Any pics would be nice as well.

2) Strollers -- would love to hear advice. We will have a 5 and 3 year old with us. Figure for 10 days, we'll eventually need/want strollers. Should we bring our own individual strollers or just go with a Disney double stroller. Any feedback positive/negative is invited.

Thanks!
John.

Here is some info to check out on gift baskets:

It is also fun to collect items at home and make your own basket and smuggle it to your resort in your luggage, or ship it to yourself, care of your resort. You can then place it in your room as a surprise.

Definately bring your own strollers...to rent at Disney is cost prohibitive...you could buy a nice double for what you would be paying in rental fees. Figure you will do 5-8 miles a day, if not more, so you won't be sorry you brought your own strollers. Plus, you will have the use of them at your resort and DTD.

Happy planning!

If you don't want to bring your own strollers you can rent them very reasonably through Orlando Stroller Rentals. They drop them off at the hotel and pick them back up at the end of your stay. Way cheaper than the rentals in the parks, much better quality, and you have them at the resorts. We used them in April and were very pleased!:)

I made up gift baskets for my grand kids and shipped them to the resort. You can get a lot of Disney stuff at the dollar store and target. You can now order park merchandise at disneyshopping.com, so you could get their hats with their names on them and add them to the basket. I went through the laughing place for some of my stuff. The resort added some balloons to the baskets and their 1st visit buttons, and a birthday button. Strollers. I would bring your own. I bought a "combi" stroller. It is light weight and folds up small. I would bring 2 strollers, not connected. That way if one of you wants to take the older one on a ride, you still can go sit with the other one in the shade. Single stroller are easier to maneuver around also. Make sure you mark your stroller some how, so when you go to get it, you can find it faster. I made stroller tags out of ribbon. Have fun!!!

I just used Disneyflorist to send a personalized canvas bag of goodies to my parents for their anniversary (at WDW). Great service and my parents were very pleased!

Can't say much about stollers, except that I ALWAYS hear that you should bring your own.

Have SO much fun!!
