gift bag ideas for older kids?

I second the Hidden Mickey book idea! Here are a few of my suggestions...

Waterproof room key/tikcet holders for waterparks or water rides
Small 4X6 photo album for memories
Pin Lanyard and a few pins to get them started
Disney Princess Chap Stick for the girls--I found these at both Target and Wlamart in a 2 pack
Disney Pen
Disney Fruit Snacks
Where can I get waterproof ticket holders?

You can try a sporting goods/fishing/scuba diving store either on land or online. They also sell them at the water parks and I know they sell them at Animal Kingdom (that's where DH got his) so if you call the WDW merchandise # you could probably order one there.

There have been several threads about these on the disboards. Do a search by typing in the word "waterproof". I ordered ours from www.rei.com. There was a link in one of the threads about the waterproof holders to that website.

I wanted to leave a "Tinkerbelle" surprise for my daughter each night when we go in October since it's just a "two of us" trip, so I loved this thread.

I put it together in one list for myself...here it is for you all...

Disposable camera
Lip gloss
Glow necklaces
Disney dollars
Small photo album
Scrapbook
Small pocket size sunscreen
Sunglasses
Flip flops
Hair scrunches
Water ball
Disney themed Pez dispensers
Water guns
Glow bracelets
Glow sticks
Disney hair clips
Disposable
Gum
Mints
Pins and a lanyard to start a pin collection
Sun visors
Disney scrap booking materials
Waterproof room key/ticket
Disney Princess Chap Stick
Disney Pen
Disney Fruit Snacks

As I was reading this thread the other day I started wondering if I wanted to do this also. my ds will be 7 and 9 when we go and what would keep them busy in the nine hours between airport time and flight time. So I decided to go to the dollar store and pick up some more magic cards, I got 4 differant sets and put them away. My 7 yo loves them now so I thought they would like them for the airport time, just thought I'd let ya know.

Not knowing your kids it is hard to tell, but I know that when I was about 15, I would get excited about some of the same things that your 6-7 might. I should add that the summer I turned 15 I started working at a summer camp, under the nickname of Goofy (a nickname I still proudly hold now 7 years later :flower: ) You might be surprised how something small like one of those hand held pinball games where you pull back the plunger and the b-b rolls in one of the holes will entertain and really make their day (I know it makes mine, and my 17 year old brother)

We packed plastic ponchos in goodie bags for our magical gatherings group. I found them for $0.59 for the 10 of us. Much better to spend $6.00 ahead to prevent a soggy trip rather than $60.00 when we are there and it starts to rain on us....an ounce of prevention!

I also stocked the battery powered minifans. They were $1, and the kids thought all was well after a 20 second fan break instead of a $50.00 ice cream break! :hourglass :grouphug: 8 days till our next magical gathering!

Last fall I took my 13 yr old son to WDW for his special birthday. Goody bags were not necessary by any means, but....

On the plane I gave him his surprize bag with, special novelty gum (can't remember what kind, just stuff I would never buy on a reg basis), reeces PB cups (his favorite candy), a new GBA game (to keep busy on the flight down) and a "thanks for being a great son" type mooshy card with Disney Quest tickets! He was thrilled because I told him we probably were not going to go to DQ again this time.

This is a tough age to know what to get that's not too kiddish but not adult yet either. He was thrilled with everything, even the candy, fruit snacks and gum!! ;)

Just want to add that my kids are 10 and 14 and still love getting Disney beanie toys..the small stuffed ones. We also picked up a pack of Disney trivia cards at Target a few years back...and Hot Topic has a lot of Tinkerbell stuff, picked up a Tink wristband for DD (14) that she loves. Where did everyone find the Tink Tatoos? Would love to get some for DD 15th B-day this June!

There is some cute makeup kits by Hilary Duff (Lizzy McGuire) at Target for $4.99 a piece... they are really cute. Target carries alot of older child items that are disney themed.

Good Luck!

ok...dumb question...what is Hot Topic? sounds familiar...store in mall? (don't do much shopping these days)
