Our family is planning a Grand Gathering for October. :cool1: I would like to make small gift bags for all the kids. I have lots of ideas for the younger kids, but am stuck on ideas for the older kids ( boys ages 10 and 13 and girl age 11) that don't seem too young. Any suggestions welcome--thanks!

I found tinkerbell tatoos that my 12yo loved. I also put in a disposable camera, lip gloss, glow necklaces. You could add disney dollars, a small photo album or scrapbook, small pocket size sunscreen, sunglasses, flip flops, hair scrunchies, a waterball for the pool. My DS is 10 and he loves legos so I also add something lego for him. They also always get disney themed pez disensers.

Great ideas! :flower: Thanks! My nephew is big into legos and we are planning to visit the lego store at DTD.

someone posted this idea on another thread, how about those m & m containers with pennies and quarters for the pressed penny machines??

Waterguns!!! They are fun for all. Sun-visors, and gum. You can't get gum at Disney.
I agree with the Disney bucks and cameras.
Have fun!

no ideas (I have 14yo & 20mnth), but....... can I have one of your goodie bags? They sound awesome :)

Glow necklesses and bracelets for the girl and then glow sticks for the boys from your local dollar store.

Also for the girl look for disney hair clips!

Disposable cameras are always a good idea for the kids then theres no worries if they are lost.

Gum, mints, pez, candies all pretty standard stuff.

Perhaps pins and a lanyard to start a pin collection?

I am writing all these great ideas down so I can buy things a little at a time as my budget allows. I found the glow sticks, but not the necklaces at Dollar Tree. And I wish I could remember where I saw the pez dispensers! Why is it that you find things when you are not looking for them! LOL Thanks again!

shoot me a pm with how many you would be looking for and I'll see what I can find. My dollar tree had these kits for $1 that had a neckless a bracelet and clip on earrings in them!!! As well as bunny ear head bands!

Let me preface my next comments by saying that I have also given various little gifts and goodies for my kids as we left for WDW. But as I am reading this particular topic, I am wondering, why do kids that are about to embark on a trip to the funnest playground on the planet need to have any little gifts and goodies?

Not passing judgements, just asking a rhetorical question.

Scarboroughmom, I wonder the same thing, yet here I am searching high and low not only for gifts for my kids but for my extended family that is meeting us in May!

My reasoning for the gifts is that though they aren't a necessity to make an already special trip special, they add just one more touch of magic and fun. Who doesn't like to receive a gift in a pretty gift bag, even if isn't anything too special?

I bought some Disney scrapbooking materials for my DGD's gift bag. She is 11 also and has just started scrapbooking.

I was going to say for the boys a freebie would be to make a list of hidden mickeys and let them find some. My DS was 9 last trip and loved looking for them. Or quarters for the shooting arcade in MK.

The Hidden Mickeys book would be a great addition. The entire group can follow it as a scavenger hunt, or you can just look for whatever place you happen to be at and search out the hidden mickeys that are there.

I second the Hidden Mickey book idea! Here are a few of my suggestions...

Waterproof room key/tikcet holders for waterparks or water rides
Small 4X6 photo album for memories
Pin Lanyard and a few pins to get them started
Disney Princess Chap Stick for the girls--I found these at both Target and Wlamart in a 2 pack
Disney Pen
Disney Fruit Snacks

I was joking with this, but then I went to Target last night & Big Lots today.

Target - Betty Boop notebooks, pens, journal (I'm not sure if BB is WDW, but she was in Roger Rabit) all in the $1 bins - Also flip flops $1.99

Big Lots - I found nice large face watches attached as $clips to bill fold- $3.99. They also had a Betty Boop necklace 7 watch sorry I didn't check the price of those as I figure DD may not want all BB.

I know it is the happiest place on earth...that is why my kids get gift bags full of goodies...delivered in the middle of the night from Tinkerbell....it is so fun to see the magic! :lovestruc

It gives us something to do until the trip because we're going crazy when we're not doing Disney stuff. Plus, you have to have some excuse to give them all that neat stuff you've found. :teeth:

What about some water bottle/mister fans? In the parks they're expensive but at Walmart they're about $5.

I like to put things in the bags they can use on the trip, too. Sometimes a small puzzle or wordfind book, definitely Disney Dollars, a Disney tee shirt, a Disney Princess pocketbook, snacks, etc... Walmart has lots of Disney things. :wizard:
