Ghost Whisperer Premiere

I had heard it would be a dream and he is not really dead. OMGosh I hope it is a dream like the Bobby dream on Dallas. It will not be the same if he is dead.

OMG I was so sad about Jim. I hope it is just a dream sequence and she wakes up at his bedside in the next episode. Do you think they would do that? Maybe have the next few episodes be a dream?

I think they made a BIG mistake if they did really kill him off. Now evey episode Melinda will be in mourning. It's not like she will say, "okay Jims dead, now back to crossing people over." Jim and Melinda's relationship was so sweet and it was nice that she had him by her side and he was always cheering for her. I will miss that tenderness and am not sure I will continue to watch as it is just too depressing. I know the show is about death, but it was always Melinda helping others deal with death, not one so close to her.

Can someone fill me in? I sat down to watch this morning and seems my 11 year changed our TiVo priority so ICarly is now #1. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am so not happy!!!!

I just watched last nights show on my DVR. I hope they didnt kill Jim off! Jim and Melinda were such a lovely couple. He can't die!

Jim was trying to wrestle a gun away from a guy and the police were outside the house, saw a shadow of someone holding a gun and shot the person.
Turns out it was Jim. He made it through surgery but then died of an embolism later. The previews for next week showed him with Melinda so his ghost will be around for atleast one show.

I think he's really dead. And I hate it!
I probably will still watch for awhile and see what happens.

I am so embarrassed that lasts nights episode left me devastated! I was crying my eyes out! Then I was mad they killed him. I think next weeks episode is going to even be more heart wrenching BUT then I read this..............

Well, I'm with you, that's interesting. ::yes::

I do have to say that I hope they aren't planning on keeping him around as a ghost instead of as a flesh and blood husband. I would hate that. I'm also afraid that along with making him a ghost, they're going to throw her having gotten pregnant in their last days together :rolleyes2 into the mix. If they do, that's going to make me roll my eyes and grit my teeth.

I just watched it today and was sobbing loud enough to cause my DH to come and check on me. He knew I was watching GW and knew that this would be the outcome (he reads all the spoilers even though he never watches the show).

Very sad :( Melinda and Jim have always been my favorite TV couple :sad1:

says:
"What happened last night is step one in a special journey that will only continue to get bigger and better. Keep watching next week and beyond to see were this is going. We promise you it will be a journey worth taking."

Even if he hangs around as a ghost, I'm not watching after next week.

If it turns out to be a "dream" later on after the "journey" is over, I hope someone posts a new thread titled "Jim's Back: Ghost Whisperer!" I'll tune back in if that is true.

Wondering what to do with my Fri evenings after next week. :scratchin

Last night's episode had me in tears. I knew he was going to die but it was still incredibly sad. I'm thinking that maybe Melinda will be pregnant and Jim's ghost will stay around until the baby is born and then he'll cross over.

Okay, now I'm thinking (hoping) there is another possibility we haven't thought of. :scratchin

At the end of the episode, we see the doctors & nurses rush in. But the episode ends before they call time of death. I've never heard of someone being able to make it after an embolism, ( my limited experience coming from watching medical dramas. ) What if he's simply hanging around (the whole show) in that near-death coma state?

You know, that place where people who have died & come back have said they hovered over their body and saw the crash team was working on them. Instead, Jim goes to Melinda, since he knows she can see him.

I remember something Jim said last season. They were talking about a "Do Not Resuscitate" order, and whether they would want to hang around in a coma, even if there was practically no chance of coming out of it. Jim said, if Melinda had already died before him, then to pull the plug on him. But if she was still alive, and there was even a slightest chance he could come back to be with her again, he'd stay forever.

We saw the previews where Melinda tells Jim to go on. But Jim wants to stay. Maybe it was just her saying he doesn't have to hang on in the vegetative coma, he should move on? :scratchin

Maybe their "journey" is how their love for each other somehow makes a miracle happen, and Jim miraculously comes out of the coma, the doctors said he never would come out of, showing in the end, "Love conquers all."

Man, I hope it's something like that, instead. :(

Good one! I would LOVE this even more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS I like TV too much!

This actually makes a lot of sense! I can see how this would work and would actually be kind of cool. Jim helps Melinda for a few eps from "the other side." It would be sad, but if he came back , it would be ok! :goodvibes

I'm with you.....done unless Jim comes back as a LIVE person.
I will be in WDW next Friday, but I will keep watch for someone to post that Melinda woke up and it was a dream.....but I am doubting it
I love them as a couple....so nice to have a good relationship with a TV couple.

I would love it!

YOU like TV too much, I'm the one making this stuff up! :rotfl: I really hope I'm kind of, sort of, on the right track. :goodvibes

yeah, yeah, yeah I Like this!!!!!! that would be good, I soooo hope he isnt dead, the show just wont be the same without him....

but him as a ghost all the time, :confused3 the people in that town have to think she is a little nuts already, I mean she stands on street corners talking to, what they would have to think is herself, and now if she carried on conversations with her dead hubby at say a town resturant, yeah I'm thinking she would be seen as the town wacko :rolleyes1

If Jim is really dead, I will NOT be happy! I love him.

Also, unrelated to Jim's death or non-death, wouldn't you think that Melinda would walk around with a cell phone or bluetooth so she could whip that out when she's talkeing to the ghosts-cut down on the people thinking she's a whacko-it would just look like she's talking on the phone. LOL I think that every week..

I love Ghost Whisperer but hadn't been able to catch any of this season's episodes until last night. I hadn't read the speculation and had NO IDEA this was coming! Yikes- I kept thinking she was going to suddenly wake up and have it be a dream. I'm shocked, and it certainly wasn't a direction I wanted them to go in.

BUT, I won't stop watching. I'm dying to see where this is going!

It makes me sad that so many are claiming to refuse to watch anymore. I don't want this show to get canceled! At least wait and see...maybe they know what they are doing.

I can't stop watching!
Plus...I do think from everything I have read that there is more to this!
I think Imzadi is on to something!!!!
