Ghost Whisperer Premiere

I read that Camryn's part is small by her request, it's the reason she agreed to do the show. It said she has other commitments and didn't want a full time role.

Ah, well, I'm glad Camryn's happy then. I know she's a single mom.

Still sucks about Jim.

haven't watched it yet....not on here for another 1 1/2 hours....but seems like what I was afraid of. Jim is dying??
Like I said at the beginning of the season, if they kill him off, I won't watch anymore. I don't care if he stays as a ghost....I am done!
Why can't a TV character have a happy home life?? Melinda deals with enough ghosts. I hate this.....guess I switch over to Wife Swap :rotfl:

Pardon my French., but that episode ****ing sucked.

One: Why the hell would a polic officer just shoot at someone's outline?
Two: Why would you kill off the main character's rock?

This show. Is Dead. To me. I hope whoever writes this is fired, IMMEDIATELY.

Well, I haven't cried that much over a TV show in a long time. :sad1:

I was reading an interview with the actor who plays Jim and he said he was told from day one that his character was not meant to be a permanent one. :sad2:
It does make it difficult to picture how she will carry on now ~ he really was her rock at the end of every crazy day.

I gotta be honest... I have gone from loving this show, to not really worrying too much if I miss it. I have tonights DVRed. I watched WifeSwap instead:upsidedow
I think part of the reason is that I cant stand Jamie Kennedys character. adn glad to see that I am not the only one. I really liked Jay Mohrs character, but havent seen much of him. And now I read that Jim is dead! Holy smokes!!!
Too be honest, the sappy relationship kinda irritated me, but come on..:lmao:

Totally PO'd!

Geeze, I probably couldn't have cried any more if I had lost my own husband! I didn't like Jim much at first, but grew to like him. Now the show just wouldn't be the same without him. My dad and sister said they're not going to watch anymore. I probably will though.

You can add me to the list of the forlorn. I really liked Jim. I'm not sure why some people didn't like their relationship, but I thought it was portrayed well (as a husband and wife who love and support each other).

Even my husband (who doesn't particularly care for the concept of the show but is around some when I have it on) stopped to watch the ending and didn't like it.

I don't think that keeping Jim around as a ghost is going to be the same thing. Like others, I though it would be the professor who got killed off if his new show made it, and I didn't like that either. You can also count me in as being one of the viewers who does NOT care for the new professor/counselor guy. :sad2:

ETA: And I totally agree with the previous poster who couldn't believe they showed the officer firing into the house when you couldn't even tell who was who. That was ridiculous.

I couldn't watch because we had guests.
I'm kind of glad I missed it. Even though I usually watched it, I don't think I will anymore considering who got killed off.

The previews show Jim's around for at least one more episode (as a ghost,) while he & Melinda work something out. :confused3 I'll tune in for that. But, yeah, I think that will be my last episode.

I also think things have to change, even if Jim hangs around as a ghost, helping Melinda. It's not like she can stay in love with him, as a ghost. That would be unhealthy. She's alive. Even if he's around, for her own health, she has to let go & move on - even if they don't pair her up romantically with someone again.

I can't see wanting to watch this show while she acts like brother & sister to Jim as a ghost, now. :confused3

I don't like where this show is going. First they kill off her best friend, Aisha Tyler. She has only a passing friendship with Camryn Manheim's character, at the shop. Now they kill off Jim. So, is this show only going to be about her & Jamie Kennedy going from ghost case to case now, with no personal life really?

That didn't work when the writers did that to Jennifer Garner's character on Alias. They slowly got rid of all the people she cared about. Then when they got rid of Michael Vartan, the show just tanked. :sad2: Then JG & her character got pregnant & we saw her chasing & fighting spies who wanted to kill her, with no regard for the fetus. :sad2:

It's like the producers or writers don't understand what made these show successful in the first place was the main character AND their personal lives of having the relationships they have. I'm not interested in a Law & Order type show, where they simply move from case to case.

Do they really think I'm just going to tune in to watch Melinda with annoying Jamie Kennedy, stumble upon ghost to ghost each week?

And if Melinda does end up pregnant now, like I want to watch her fixing the relationships of the ghosts, when she doesn't even have one of her own, who, as PP said, is her rock through it all?

What nit-wit writer thought any of this is a good idea? :sad2:

I'm so disappointed too, I think I see the light at the end of the show. Could this be the last season?

I read that fast and thought you said you had GHOSTS!

I only watched it off and on last year, now that I hear that her hubbie was killed off, I won't watch anymore.

I don't usually come on this thread, but last nights show was so wrong. I felt the need to come and share my sadness to where the show is going. I don't understand why they killed off Jim and the way they did it with the cop shooting through a window blindly. :confused3 They need to fire that writer and now.

Unless, they get that professor back (they seemed to have a connection), this show isn't going anywhere and they will lose viewers. I'll watch for now because I'm curious to see which direction they'll take this. So far, I don't like it. I hope Jim moves on and doesn't hang around, so Melinda can move on.

I agree with someone else who said WTH!!!!

It would be great for the professor to come back and that would be the only way, IMHO, that they can save the show now. She had a great connection with her and he really loved her. It was obvious.

Maybe Jim will stay through the end of this season and that's it. Maybe he feels he has to stay because he needs to help her get through this. Maybe she'll be pregnant and he'll want to help her move on. :confused3

I will watch to see what happens BUT if Jim leaves, the new guy stays and the professor doesn't come back, or if they don't somehow get another GREAT character to be her new love interest soon, then I'm out!

I liked the professor, but that was kind of a weird relationship. I wasn't if she's choose him over Jim (or have a DH and a boyfriend) or what.
I don't like the idea of Jim gone. She needed a close personal relationship with a human to stay sane.

I had flashbacks from "Ghost" with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze during the final few minutes of last night's episode, especially during the previews for next week's show. Sadly, I do not think I will be tuned in to watch it. :sad1:

Like PP's, I believe there was a tremendous amount of room for exploring Melinda's relationships and personal life just by following through with the storylines involving her mother, father and brother. It was unnecessary to eliminate the only other character besides Melinda who had any dimension of character development.

Jim was not only Melinda' rock, but he was the only other character that really allowed you to see her as a full person -- her range of emotions, vulnerabilities, insecurities, strengths and weaknesses. It will be difficult to continue to develop those parts of her character through only occasional interactions with a ghost.

Well, I suppose I now have a free hour every Friday night -- no more excuses for not getting that vacuuming done. :rolleyes1
