Ghost Whisperer Premiere

I cried too!! The kids think I'm crazy.

Oh well, its frees up my Fridays for other mindless TV. Or movie night with the kids.

I watched this week hoping they'd be able to redeem themselves. I was so wrong. :sad2: I cried almost the entire episode and then was left dumbfounded at the end. (yes, I need a life :lmao: ) This is the only show I watch with regularity and it really annoys me that it became so lame.

That's exactly how I feel. It's really the only show that I make a point of watching, and I'm VERY perturbed! :headache:

I was in too much shock to cry this week. Then I was so mad.
All I kept saying to myself was, "Jim's dead. He's really dead."

Did anyone else also think of this alternate ending during the show: Up until Jim jumped into that other guy's body, Jim could have run back into the room where he saw himself in the hospital bed, gone back in time a little (like when he saw himself at his wedding,) and jumped back into his OWN body, and come back to life.

It would have been similar to it all being a dream of Melinda's, only going back in time and undoing his death. Even that would have been preferable to jumping into someone else's body and not knowing who Melinda is, and now being another identity. :sad2:

I thought of that too - sort of like a "Ghost of Christmas Future" type thing in A Christmas Carol, where the future shown (which included Scrooge seeing his own dead body) could be avoided. But, that would almost mean he would have needed to do something that would need to be changed.

Even without the storyline, the writing was just bad. There was so much dialog and other stuff that seemed so 'high school writing assignment' and just didn't seem like things that the characters would say or do.

Something else I just thought of = maybe it's not Jim that is going thru this. Maybe this is a "Ghost of Christmas Future" type thing that SHE is going thru. The zombie (or whatever it was) warned her that bad things could happen. What if this is more warning?
(Although that doesn't get to the part the producers have been going on about it being so romantic for the next show).
I can't see how anyone can find anything romantic about the spirit of your dead husband inhabiting the body of a random guy who just died. That must go against all kind of "Ghost Whisperer" (and even zombie) codes of conduct.:headache:

Thanks for the CBS link! :thumbsup2 Posted my opinion, not that it will count for much on it's own... but I think the avalanche of angry email will at least give them an idea of just how out of touch they are with the fan base. :sad2:

I guess just adding a child to Jim and Melinda's family... which I would have welcomed... was just too conventional for them! :rolleyes1

well that was so not what I was hoping for:mad:

I did send a "comment" to CBS, but as I told them sadly I think I'm done with this show....I just dont like what direction the show just took...:sad2:

Next week I wil tune in just to make sure its not a bad dream, but if not and this is how its gonna go..:guilty: ...well my son can watch his "Smackdown Wrestling" downstairs from 8 to 9...(DS will be happy)

I find it odd, too, that the writing would take the direction of killing Jim off, but having his spirit move into a recently deceased person. How extremely odd in my opinion. Why have him killed off? When you are still going to see the actor that portrays Jim,in the series, to begin with!! (I just think that is so moronic, even for a fictional show!) I am not happy about this writing!

www.cbs.com all the way at the bottom is a link to user feedback. Select Ghost Whisperer and type your message.

Just wanted to jump in your thread to say I wrote in too.

This whole thing is just too freakin' ridiculous. I, too, am finished with a show that I've watched since the first episode.

I am disappointed. They must think we are all going to think this is great because David (Jim) is still on the show but if he doesn't even know who she is anymore???? That will even be MORE frustrating!

Let's hope this new guy isn't already married or gay. Next week's preview showed Jim/dead guy saying how he's comfortable with her or something to that effect.

Maybe in an upcoming episode Dr. Sam Beckett will leap into Jim/dead guy's body & confuse the heck out of Melinda.

Sam Beckett...:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: As long as he brings along Al, there could be a good story line there....

It just seems like such a dead end with this. So, she sees this guy as Jim, but yet everyone else sees him as 'some guy'? Maybe they should just bring back Payne, and let them be a couple:lmao: Seriously though, where is Payne?? I loved that guy! I cant stand Jamie Kennedy!!!

ack... this just sucks.:sad2:

I went & did some digging over at the cbs.com link BernardandMissBianca provided. At the forum there, someone gave a link to future spoilers of the show:

melindaverse.com then click on Episodes & it gives a list of the upcoming episodes.

Next week is the last new episode for 2 weeks because of the holiday, then it lists more new episodes till Feb.

This guy, Kenneth Mitchell, is the body Jim jumped into. His name is Sam. He is in the next SIX episodes! according to Imdb.com.

The description for Pieces of You, says:
"Melinda tracks down a girl who has been missing for 12 years and discovers a long-held secret. It is a mystery involving a wishing well which uncovers information about the decades-old disappearance of the little girl, now haunting Sam…"

So, yes, this storyline is staying. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'll tune into the beginning of next week to see how they reconcile Jim being in the other body. Then I am jumping ship. :boat: Not interested in being bitten by the shark any further. I'm not interested in seeing Melinda loving another man, in another body, yet, really her husband. :upsidedow

Now that would be a great episode! I miss Quantum Leap. How is it all of us can write a better episode than what they did? I can't believe a whole group of people read those scripts, filmed them and said, "Yeah, this will be good." :confused3

I think Payne saw the shark coming & he jumped ship. :scared1: Since his other series is on CBS, they could have easily worked his fiming schedule to include both show, without there being a conflict. He must have sensed the shark coming. <Insert Jaws theme song here.>

You know...it's not the direction I would have prefered them to take, but I have to admit that I am intriqued about where they are going with this and definately plan to keep watching! I hope I'm not the only one...

I think it's way too soon to claimed they jumped the shark. I like to be open minded. I love this show and the supernatural and stories about ghosts and the afterlife.

I liked the show too, but I really wish they hadn't killed him off and then had his spirit pop into a dead guy. I liked their relationship the way it was. I hope the show doesn't start to get worse now.

I'll keep watching for awhile and see how it goes.

I didn't like the previews for the next episode. Not just the storyline (which is dumb IMO), but it seems "soap opera-ish" :confused3 . If I wanted to watch a soap opera, I would. I hate it when my favorite shows take that turn. :sad2:

I'm not too happy with Jim jumping into the dead body either! Isn't this just like the episode where the ghost took over a classmates dead body to go to a class reunion. The body deteriorated in that episode, how romantic! LOL

::yes::
and it's not like she doesn't know what happened in that episode or know what Jim did (jumping into the dead body).
That's just EWHHHH-Y GROSS
The grossness factor itself keeps it from being romantic.:scared: :scared: :sad2:
