They are getting rid of the best characters on this show. I am not crazy about Eli at all, and will not watch without Jim.

I think his new show would have to get canceled before he comes back, Gary Unmarried. I really liked Professor Payne too.

Come on, Jim is a ghost that takes over a dead guy's spirit and reanimates the body, but the brain only has the memories of the original owner. This is just so freakin' messed up.

Yes, I think they jumped the shark. There was absolutely NO reason to have Jim die & then have him jump into another body. This is soooo the movie Ghost, mixed with Quantum Leap, mixed with Heaven Can Wait, it isn't even remotely interesting.

I kind of already wasn't watching as soon as he died. I was surfing on the web during that female ghost's parts.

I doubt I will be tuning in to watch anymore.

SO I caught the end of the show last week and I wasn't sure how Jim died.... so I had to call my mom to update me... so this week was good. I was thinking Jim was just going to stay around as a ghost and help Melinda with crossing over the others ghosts... but as soon as he found out he could "jump into" another body I knew he was going to find a way to do it.... so the at the end of the show I was like what is happening.... but I think it is going to be interesting next week...

I don't know what "jumped the shark" means;

"Jumped the Shark" is an old TV reference from the show Happy Days. It was number one in the ratings for years (or thereabouts.) Fonzie was so cool. Everyone tuned in. But the show started going downhill, losing viewers because the show was just on for so long.

So in a desperation move, or maybe smoking too much weed, the writers wrote the most stupid episode where Fonzie, got on water skis and in some kind of dare, in his motorcycle jacket, jumped over a shark.

Fonzie lost all his "coolness." The series went completely downhill after that. And the show limped for a while & finally got cancelled.

Any time a show has an episode now, where you know the moment the series turned toward it's irreversible, downward spiral to cancellation & loss of viewers, is now known as "Jumped the shark."

That was beyond stupid. Why kill Jim and then put him in another body? Will they have two people playing the character now? How will Melinda explain falling in love just weeks after her husband dies? Will he know he's Jim?

My DH said that was the end for him. Why do they do stuff like this? I didn't like the direction the show was going last year but this is too much.
