Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

Where's the yawning smiley when you need him? :surfweb: (substitute tv for the computer) that was me watching GHI this afternoon(I DVR everything and watch it when I can). That was extremely booooorrring. But like others have said, the scenery is amazing!

Ah, Brian Brian Brian......I'm so in the middle of the road with that guy. And Andy as a Hobbit! Yes, I see it! He's the kinda guy you just wanna deck when he acts like a know it all.
And Kris Williams has been wearing her glasses a lot lately - I wonder if that will interfere with the ratings for young men aged 18 - 34

As for Ed's story, I'm sorry if you cannot access it on Amazon. I guess because I have an account with them and I have the ActiveX control in my computer I am able to "read" the book.
And if you want to buy the book thinking we'll get our share, Nope....Fate Magazine sent DH a check for $25 for his story. We couldn't cash it, it was just too cool to get paid by a magazine for a story, you know?

He's seen ghosts, he's seen a UFO, he's been to hell and back with that police job of his. He is definitely a different person since he retired.

As for our house, I've got lots of little stories, all about the ghost in the hallway. I would say that it walks down the hall at least two times a month.
We hear it during the day and during the night. Sometimes even the cat will react!

Sha_Lyn, that's good news :thumbsup2

Ok y'all. Hypothetical question.....if we were to have a good old fashioned Dis ghost hunt (or any ghost hunt for that matter)....where would y'all choose as the perfect location?

One that's scary enough, with easy access - where would by your ultimate ghost hunt location.

I've always liked St. Augustine, and was it Waverly that was good too?

Also, when I was young - we visited The House of the Seven Gabels. I don't know if it's haunted, but I was definately creeped out when we were there. :confused3

I'll bite, Breezy!

Not that I would ever, SERIOUSLY, ever do a ghost hunt. But if I did, I am thinking San Francisco would be my pick. Isn't the Whaley house (or some name like that) dubbed the most haunted house in the US? I think about 10 years ago I saw a show on the History or Travel channel about it. Voices, a rocking chair or cradle that move on their own, and apparitions? If I remember correctly, that would be cool to see.

And how about loving the SciFi channel for filling my paranormal viewing needs! Those Travel Channel shows were always too tame! I know I watched a marathon one Halloween night! Of course, that was B. Q. (before quads!)

Oooo, the Whaley house sounds interesting - has GH ever been there. Is it a hotel?

I vote for St. Augustine, because we could do a DIS Disney trip and tack on a DIS GH trip! As long as we'd be in Florida anyway, let's hunt ghosts! :rotfl: Also, I'd love to go to Gettysburgh and, perhaps, Salem, MA.

In Europe I'd love to go to Ireland -- they really take their knomes and ghosts seriously there, plus I've always wanted to go to Ireland.

Oh Waverly! It is only a few hours from me and I am dying to visit it.

*oh gosh, bad pun*:lmao:

Great minds think alike ya know. :rotfl:

I love puns!

Europe would be awesome, anywhere England, Ireland, France all those big castle, perfect for Ghost Hunting!

Also Getttysburg PA, its not that far from me and seems like a paranormal hotbed! I will be there in the spring for a friends wedding so I will be doing some ghost tours and such then, I cant wait!

I'd like to check out the Waverly house or St Augustine. :cool2:
We have a haunted hotel near us called The Lodge. We stayed there once and I was hoping to see ot hear the ghost. She's been known to to turn on the faucets. Well in the middle of the night I hear water running. :scared1: But then I realized the toilet must have a slow leak as it was the water tank filling up. :rotfl:

I'd like to go to Waverly or Alcatraz. Another is the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs where Jason and Grant got the pic of the full-size apparition. We've stayed there and it's a great place.

I am 15 min from Salem and have been to St. Augutine. As for Salem when we took a ghost tour long before it was popular the guide who I wrote about in an prievous post (the one who got pushed off the stone wall) was talking to us and told us about all the homes she had been to and how so many of them were haunted but not open to the publc.

I am going back to St. Augustine in the next week or so...I doubt I will be lucky enough to catch another photo like I got last time but I will ask the clerks in the store and if I see Paul the guy you see on the GH footage (he is the education director ) I will definately ask him to tell me some stories.

I have been to House of 7 Gables many times and they will not allow photos so I was unable to pick up anything.

I was shopping with a friend today (I only see her occasionally) and the subject of GH and just ghosts in general came up. She so does not want to believe it. Anyway she said when she was at Mt. Washington that GH was there also. I told her it was a great show but she does not watch it.

By the way I took a tour in Newport RI and they took us to the tree that was used for hanging right in the middle of the city . Sure enough the thermometer the let us use went down considerably when it was pointed at the hanging tree. The also claim Belcourt is haunted but GH got nothing.

Is the House of 7 Gables said to be haunted?

Not that I have ever heard. I went on a Spirits of the Gables Tour during the Halloween season one year and what it actually meant was they had people dressed in character telling about each of the rooms in the house.

However, John Hathorne was one of the judges during the Salem Witchcraft Trials who condemned many to death. He was Nathaniel's great grandfather. Nathaniel changed the spelling to HaWthorne because he was so embarrassed that his relative had a part in the Witchcraft Hysteria. They also claim the ghost of Giles Cory roams the Salem Commons and is seen usally before an impending disaster. He was the only accused witch pressed to death because he would not confess.

They Lyceum Restaurant is supposed to be haunted but Taps went there and did not find very much other than all at once the cash registers begain going and printed a greeting that said "Good Morning". I know people who worked there and swear that at night they would see glasses thrown from the back of the bar and other strange occurances.

The Whaley House was a museum that used to be a private home. GH has never been there. Just sos you know! ;)

Going to Williamsburg soon. Do you all know any good ghost tours? I need to get one of the books that gives the info about all the suppsed hauntings.

Lurker here - long time ghost fan :)

I spent the night at Waverly Hills Sanatorium in April. It wasn't my first time there but it was my first overnight. I had been about 5 years ago on a "paranormal tour" - this was before a lot of the renovation had taken place and before a lot of interest had been generated (outside of the Louisville area, anyway) in the place.

Turns out that the tour was a bit more "interesting" than the overnight. Maybe because the overnight included about FIFTY PEOPLE  I didn't see a ghost but I saw lots and lots of peeps (and yeah - some of them were scary!) ;)

We saw a "shadow person" on the tour and I swear a brick slid across the floor. I walked by, saw the brick - heard a noise, took a few steps back and the brick was moved. And yes -the noise sounded just like a brick sliding across the floor.

But on the overnight the most frightening thing that happened was that I fell asleep in an empty and pitch-black hallway and woke up a wee bit disoriented. It was actually quite funny in retrospect - leave it to me to catch some zzz's in one of the most haunted places in America! My DH was a bit frantic looking for me and I honestly meant to just have a sit for a bit. I guess the spirits were kind and let me take my nap in peace.

When I was younger I was lucky enough to live in an amazing house that happened to be haunted. I have some fun stories that I'll share sometime :goodvibes

Hello Everyone! :wave2:

I was hoping to get some words of advice from people who have done some ghost hunting. DH and I are purchasing a voice recorder and are heading out with our digital camera to a local cemetary to do some first time ghost hunting.

We would like any advice you have for first timers doing this type of thing.

Thanks!
