Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I just LOVE ghosthunters. It is one of the few shows I watch, besides Lost. It does get annoying when they "accidentally" drop things or Steve jumps 10 feet in the air because of a spider, but I still love the show and the interaction between Jay & Grant.

BTW, our smoke detector went off today. Out of the blue, no cooking going on or anything. We had just gotten back from the pool and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but we were talking about father's day and out of the blue, my son started talking about his Grandpa and it sure was sad he was dead - sounds simplistic, but they were his words. We started to talk about the things he still remembers about Grandpa - just a nice talk. Anyway, the smoke detector went off for a very short time - not even long enough to determine which one it was (we have many - if you can recall from my other story). I made DH come inside because I wanted to make sure nothing was on fire anywhere. when I seemed confused - DH laughed and said, "well, it is father's day..." So strange. We haven't had a smoke detector incident since the last one I described in my story which has to be roughly almost 4 1/2 - 5 yrs ago.

I do not remember but I think I posted earlier about the same thing happening on Thanksgiving ...right over my father's chair. Same circumstances too no cooking, no smoke, no fire!

I would LOVE a rational explanation to everything, but I'm a very rational person - and when you experience some of this stuff - it leaves ya going like this :confused3 . DH seeing an actual full apparition makes me actually feel better in a scary sort of way. I mean it validates to me that something is going on. We do sound like a bunch of "nut-jobs" though don't we :rotfl2: .

Breezy,

I have been thinking that while I do not know you MANY, MANY of the things you have reported (and I have reported ) have been similar. I wonder if it has to do with our personalities. Much of what you mentioned reminded me that my son also used to have night terrors and when he was little a couple of times I would see what I thought was him going into his room out of the corner of my eye. It looked like a figure about 3 ft tall but I would go into his room and he would not be there. He would be downstairs on the den watching tv no where near me. Is there a connection between young children and this with mothers who have a certain sensitivity to it?? I do not know. It freaked me out about the smoke alarm too!

Great Story danalee.

Bella, have you done the smuge yet? I would be REALLY creeped out if someone said the visitor sounded like me.:scared1: I guess you can look on the bright side, at least your visitor isn't violent or mean. (just trying to help;) )

I'm going to google Lisa Williams, I never heard of her before I just read about her on this thread.

Yes I did it with a feather and a prayer(or should I say I made my husband do it). I have not heard the steps over my head again but I am trying very hard to to listen.

MY son told me that when he hooked up the mp3 to a single speaker you coudl hear the voice plain as day. I still want to cry. Then they all came up with the theory that maybe it is a voice from the future. JEESH I guess I just do not now what is worse!

Very cool stories about your hubby's grandma - I kinda have a personal theory about the first three days after someone dies. I always thought that the soul sticks around for a few days after...I have no idea why I think that, I just always have. LOL

I do have antiques, which could explain why I haven't had experiences in a long while, not until we moved in here. There's a different "feel" to this house than the farmhouse. We have a warm feel, and not really scary. But, I've never felt comfortable at the farmhouse - never. And you'd think I would since it's been my childhood home since I was 11. who knows. Maybe it's time for one of Bella's smudge sessions. But I don't want to drive out relatives if it's them. And as far as TAPS is concerned - I'd be too afraid our house would end up being a 1 ghost episode :rotfl: .

:lmao: That would be the worst...having them come in and finding nothing!

Ok gang this one by far had me slightly creeped out, my son said many things when he was younger that would make us go hmmm but it was like they say, the older a child gets the less they see/feel what have you. He questions things alot, but isnt consumed in any way with anything paranormal, and if its something he is interested in later in life, great, if not well thats great too.

Ok last summer my son came out onto the deck and says to me "mom do you think I could fall asleep while I was going #2" now keep in mind it was late, about midnight, we had been gone all day to picnic out of town and had gotten home about 30 minutes earlier, anyway with all that I said "well its been a long day so I am sure you could have fell asleep" not thinking to much about it other than it was kinda funny, we go in get some milk and make our way upstairs.
While he is getting in bed he says, "mom ya know when I fell alseep in the bathroom a little bit ago" yeah I remember "well I had a dream" um ok that could happen I guess, he then says "it did happen I dreamed about a lady and a little boy, do we know them?" of course I'm tired and without giving it any thought I said "how would I know, hunter it was your dream now lets get to bed' as I shut off his light he says "mom I think we did know them" I said ok you can tell me more about it in the morning.

Jump to morning, we slept in and I was woke up with a phone call, I have a cusion who lives in Tennesee, the night before him, his wife and there 2 sons were on there way home when they were hit by a drunk driver, his wife and one son were killed on impact. My son never met them he had only knew my cusion, I mean to tell you I got chills upon chills.
When my son got up, I ask him about his dream and why he thought we knew them, he said "I dont know but they said they came to say goodbye". Let me tell you I thought I was gonna pee my pants, right on the spot, I swear I shivered for 10 minutes!

Wow! It gave me chills too. Is it hard for you as his Mom to deal with this? It must be hard sometimes to stay controlled when he says something and inside you have chills.

:rotfl: Maybe we're twins in a past life. It is weird. I saw your post about it on the other thread and I wanted to respond. What made my mouth gape open was when you described what kind of mother you are and how you raised your boy. Identical, and what really got me was the no sugar til two. I was rigid about it - first b-day cake, then back on no sugar he went. Too funny. Also weird that I'm telling the stories here, I swear I never talk about it IRL. I'm definately sure it's inherited. My nana was like me, and my mom says that her sister -my great aunt was too. I wonder about my mom but she's sooo closed off, I'm lucky if she'll even discuss it with me. It took her years and she only recently admitted that she saw the white mist floating down the stairs too.

Ah well, I'm about tapped out of stories except some little stuff that happened at the farmhouse (I'll wrap up the chronicals with part IV as a collection of all the minor things), the ouiji board (I'm still not sure if I'm going to tell that one), and something verrry strange that happened to me after my other grandma died - so terrifying that I never stayed in her house again after it. Then I'm done - for now and hopefully for a long time ;) .

But I look forward to all the stories from y'all as always...popcorn::

Maybe we should be like Jay and Grant and have weekly topics to discuss...nah, too much work :rotfl2: .

Awww breezy, I've been waiting patiently. :worried: I wanted to hear the ouiji board story. :( :worried:  (and the other stories too)

 I'm sorry, I've reached my freak quotiant for at least a few days yet. I'm actually really scared to recount the ouiji one. The spirit we "invoked" I think turned out really bad, and it's been a long time - I think going on 2 decades actually, but I remember it like yesterday. I'll tell it I think, just probably during the day sometime.

That's fine, I can wait until daytime,:woohoo: I just hope it's sometime this week. :thumbsup2

Ok, another boring night on the boards so...what the heck. I'll tell y'all about my experience when my other grandma died.

After she passed, I met my dad at her house. All the arrangements had already been made and there were no calling hours the night b4 (she was 93 and we had calling hours before her service). I only tell you this to explain that it was just my dad and me who stayed in the house that night - the others - my mom, brother and DH, came up the next morning.
So, the house was old and the upstairs had three bedrooms - one in front with a connecting door to the middle room with a connecting door to the back room. Tight quarters. My parents always stayed in the back room and I always stayed in the middle room. I've always been uncomfortable ever since I was a child of the far back room and the middle room. Also, this was a generational home ( I don't even know if that's a word :rotfl2: , but you get my drift - only my dad's family had lived there, noone else), I don't know if half of this information is relevant, but I'm telling it anyway ;) . So, I go to bed that night and that's when things get weird. I woke up in the middle of the night to an instant and overwhelming feeling of a presence in the room. Sheer and utter EVIL permeated the room. I was terrified - and wide awake, but afraid to open my eyes. I can't describe it, but I think if I were to come face to face with a demon - this is what I would feel. I can honestly say that I KNOW what pure evil feels like. I was so scared I tried to scream for my dad, but it took me a while to get up the nerve to even open my eyes. When I finally could muster up the courage, I sprang from my bed and went to wake up my dad. Needless to say, I did not sleep the rest of the night, and swore I'd never stay there again - and I didn't. This is probably the scariest thing that I've experienced in my entire life.

Also, this definately did not feel like a relative or any other presence I've ever felt before - any takers on what happened. :confused3 When I described what happened to DH, I told him it felt like there was a demon in the room with me.

Ummm, thanks? :confused3 :scared: :scared1: I was just about to go to bed when I saw you posted. I guess I'll be up a while longer now, looking for a sitcom to watch.:rotfl:

That would be REALLY creepy, especially since your grandma had just died. You never heard anything in that house before this incident? Sounds almost like something wanted to take over the house once your grandma was out of it. (I'm creeping myself out just typing this...my electric bill is going to be high this month, I keep turning all the lights on after reading this thread. )

I don't know what to make of it but I'm interested to hear what others have to say.popcorn::

Wow, I never thought about something waiting to take over the house. :scared1: And no I never had any experiences there other than a negative feeling in the back two bedrooms. What I did think of is that I hoped my grandma never experienced anything like that. She lived alone and was practically blind and bedridden for a long time (but OOOOO so stubborn - wouldn't even hear of coming to live with my dad, and since we all lived a couple hours away, she had nursing come during the days).

Now go watch some friends or sienfeld or family guy :rotfl2: . Freaky, huh?

Wow! It gave me chills too. Is it hard for you as his Mom to deal with this? It must be hard sometimes to stay controlled when he says something and inside you have chills.

Most of the time it never bothers me, it is what it is. I will say that the him seeing what we asume was my cuz's wife and child now that freaked me out big time, I never told him the connection, to young I think. I dont want to scare him.

The only time I ever saw my son scared by anything was, he was around 3 or 4 and we have a big living room(two rooms made into one) anyway at the end of the room we had made a "little: room for my son, it was book shelves on the sides a tv at the end and his rugrat sleeping bag in the middle. Anyway he would lay over there, play, watch tv while we at the other end of the room did whatever.
One night he comes over and says "mommy make him leave" I'm like who make who leave, to which he say "the little boy with the black eyes, he scares me" Now I got a chill but you know went into momma bear mode and went over and said "Ok little boy you have to leave, you are scaring my son and I dont allow you to stay here, now go away" it worked. He sat on the rocking chair with me and I waited awhile and ask him if he was gone and said yes, never again did he bring it up.

So as a mom, its tough but I was watching a show about kids that can see/sense things and my little guy is nowhere near as intune as they are, maybe he could be, maybe not I just never wanted to scare him by asking alot and going into great details, and the thing is once its over it seems to be over for him, he never dwells on anything.

OK, I love this stuff. I've been fascinated by it all my life, but never had an experience myself. The older I get the more I realize that just might be a good thing, lol. I have had some intuitive experiences, but nothing big.

A recent story - MIL passed on May 19. About a week later, DH said he dreamed of her. She called him on his cell and was yelling at him to call his brother. Wouldn't say why, just insisted that he call. So, the next morning he called. BIL had nothing to say, lol. Of course, DH checked his missed calls and she didn't really call, lol, but he was creeped out. We are moving into her house soon, so we'll find out if she stuck around. Her last week was rough for us, and I made sure she got last rites and tried to mentally tell her it was OK to go to the light. She was stubborn about everything and didn't give in on this last thing easily either, lol. She had a proper wake, funeral ,etc., so hopefully she made the transfer OK.

Anyway, I love hearing these stories. I have seen GH but don't care for it. Too much debunking and human drama for me. I love Ghostly Encounters, which I think is on the Biography channel, on Sunday nights. But my all time favorite show right now is Paranormal State, which was on Mondays, but was on last night (Sunday) for some reason. Ryan is really cool and really knowledgeable. My favorite is the episode about the piano. Oooooooooooooooooooooo.... It made me think twice about buying antiques, lol. I like that Ryan uses Lorraine Warren for advice. I read her and her husband Ed's book on demonology when I was 9 and I was fascinated. They said that you should never mess with ouija boards because you never know what might come through. 'Nuff said.

I'm not religious but I'd like to think that I'm spiritual. I think that something is out there, I'm just not sure what. It's probably a natural process that we just don't understand yet.

danalee, I don't now how you were able to sleep after the episode with the boy with the black eyes. :scared1: :faint:

Welcome Hidden Mickey! :wave2:
I too think when you mess with a ouiji board you are just welcoming trouble. :scared:

I love Paranormal State too! I was just watching a new show on A&E, Psychic Kids, that has the psychic Chip that works with Ryan sometimes and they showed a commercial for the new season of Paranormal State that will be starting on July 28th.

Psychic Kids has Chip and a child psychologist helping kids who are sensitive to understand their gift and help their parents understand it too.

Breezy it is still light out can we please have the Ouija story?

I will trade you one. While I HOPE the cause of mine is some sort of sleep paralysis ....it was still scary.

My husband used to snore(he uses a C-Pap machine now) and it was murder to try and get a good nights sleep. When my older son moved out I used his room on occasions when the snoring got too bad. I did the room over and I really loved the comfort of it. One night I was sleeping there and I felt someone massageing my back. I was facing AWAY from the wall. Suddenly I feel the hands hold me down and say, " YOU'RE GONNA DIE". I could not move then the voice said it again the voice was low and gutteral.
There is NO WAY I could move. I could feel the breath on my neck and I said to myself this is a dream but I still could not move. Then I started to say the Rosary(keep in mind I am PROTESTANT!!). Suddenly I could break free and I ran to my own room. I was petrified!! I woke up my husband but he just laughed it off. As I said I PREFER to think it was sleep paralysis but it was VERY real to me. I reason this one away becuase if I let my self get scared over this I would NEVER sleep and as you guys know I have enough things to get scared over. I NEVER EVER SLEEP IN THAT ROOM ANYMORE!!!!

:scared1: Ok, so you kinda know where I'm coming from. I don't think mine was sleep paralysis either - too real and I was awake. Plus the overwhelming sense of evil was palpable. Bella, that's too scary. And it talked to you? :scared1: Funny, I prayed too - but I said the Lord's Prayer over and over. Are you sure we're not related?

Ok now my kid tells me anything like that..........:faint:
