Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

My best friend died of an aneurysm 9 months ago. DH and I are good friends with her husband and we talk almost every day with him.
He has been having a hard time with her death which is understandable.

This morning DH forwared an email from our friend who has had some strange things going on.

Tuesday night he heard voices downstairs and a coin fall on the floor. He didn't see anything.
Last night he said that his wife's alarm went off at 0445. The alarm hasn't gone off since the morning she got up for work and then died of her aneurysm. The alarm scared the #$^ out of him. He said he then heard feet hit the floor like somebody was getting out of bed. He couldn't move for a couple of minutes and it felt like he was being held down.
After, he got up and walked around and didn't see anything.
He is sure he wasn't dreaming and wasn't sleepwalking.

My initial thoughts were that he is so overcome by grief and his mind is going through a new stage where the stress is causing him to hallucinate.
At the same time I am a bit freaked out and kept expecting to see my friend in our dining room this morning.
My friend isn't religious and doesn't believe in the afterlife. This is not a discussion about that topic.
I simply want to hear people's opinions on the strange things that have happened over the past couple of days and if anybody has ever experienced anything themselves.
Thank you.

Kiki, my suggestion would be to read the book One Last Time by John Edward. It will help you and your friend understand.

I agree. I have read all of his books (except "What if God were the Sun). The coin thing seems to be a running theme in many contacts from the other side.

By the way, last night's show was into the minus ghost column. However, I did fall into a deep sleep b/c everyone was still up. I am such a baby!

Here is an experience that happend to me and I do not know if it was a guardian angel or the lady in my house(wow now I am actually acknowledging her...by the way my husband told her to go to the light and leave our house yesterday. I called him from work and made him do it while I was on the phone b/c I did not want to be here still waiting onthe smudge ).

I am not a person who has any religious parafinalia around. No mass cards nothing. ONe day I come home from work and walk into my den. Suddenly from my book cases ( 6ft high) I see a something tumble down from what seemed like nowhere. I go over to it and it was a card that said, " Your Guardian Angel" one of those religious type cards that one would keep in a wallet. Keep in mind that I am Protestant and do not have ANYTHING like that in my house. I have no idea where it came from. HOWEVER, I was thrilled to have it and took it as a sign since there was no breeze no window no nothing in the den to make it tumble down from what seemed like the sky. It was the way it tumbled to it went end over end. NO ONE was in the house at the time (so what else is new).
I put it in the corner of my bedroom mirror. One day it was GONE!! SO I go under my bureau with a flash light and see nothing. I move my bureau and see nothing. I HAVE no idea where it went!! I wish I had it now! Honestly, I guess now that I have started to write on this thread I am actually looking at all the times I have had paranormal things happen to me and there have been quite a few.

It's a little slow here on the Dis tonight, so I might as well tell y'all some more.

For those who need to read the background story, please leave now and go to pg. 14 - I think that's the page. Close enough.

So, I was 12 when we moved into the finished house. A little more background, I was an avid reader. And, yes, would probably rate fairly high on the nerd scale (I mostly resembled Hermine Granger from Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone). Well, my room was the spookiest room in the house. I remember the old house and when we went upstairs (remember the upstairs floor-plan was not changed all that much - just the addition of the Jack-n-jill bathroom to connect my brother's and my room), I couldn't even go in the room. It had (and still has), a creepy feel to it. Well, I would buy books back then (and all through my high school career too), and stay up until 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning reading. A lot of nights - too countless to recount them all - I would hear footsteps come up the stairs and stop outside my door. I would usually hold my breath and wait. Sometimes, the door handle would jiggle like someone was trying to come in, but the door never opened. I hated it. I was scared to death, and thinking back, I'm not sure it was the love of reading or the fear of going to sleep, that kept me up most nights.

There is more to the room story, but I'll just call it Part III....

I does involve others who stayed in the room for a visit, and experienced alot more than me!

:scared1: Wow Breezy, I'm looking forward to Part III. I'm going to attempt to go to bed now though, I have to watch a little bit of Family Guy to get my mind off of this thread.:rotfl:

Breezy, that is so creepy. Does it still bother you talking about it now?

OK, Breezy. It's 3am. I'm ready for Part III. popcorn::

Bella, have you ever read When God Winks?

Okay I waited until morning to read this b/c once again I wanted to get some sleep.

By the way your description of yourself when you were younger could have been me!! I used to read in bed with a flashlight. I remember my mother buying me books and saying ..."Make these last " .I hated the local library becasue the librarians were so mean! Once I asked for a Nancy Drew book and they just about threw me out!!

Not as much as it does going back to my parents to stay in the house for visits. I won't take the room, instead I sleep in my brother's old room which runs parallel to my room with a shared wall (I'll have to describe the layout of the upstairs for Part III - it's important). His room doesn't have the same feel as mine.

!!

I think your light was off when I posted.

What's really weird about the house is that I've always known someone died there. I thought my parents told me that when they bought the place, but we were up for a visit recently and we were talking about it. When I mentioned about someone dying in the house - I think I asked who it was - they were confused and said, "noone died here". :confused3 I insisted that, yes, they told me about it didn't they? They insisted they never said anything like that and to their knowledge, noone died in the house. It's really creepy, but I just "know" that someone did. I'm going to try to do research on the place the next time I'm back up there. It'll be interesting...

Weird, huh? I'd also bet everything that it was a man. That's just the "feel" I get from whatever's in there. Contrary to the woman's voice from the barn.

Does all this sound crazy to y'all?

Have you ever done any research on the house? Like when was the house built or check local the local Register of Deeds to see who used to live there? That would be really cool if you were able to find some history on it. Also, most Counties across have all the info online now, sometimes you have to pay for it but sometimes it's free too.

My house is boring, it was built in 1958 and before that it was just a big meadow. :confused3 But you know, honestly in this case, I don't mind boring.

All I know is that at the time my parents bought the property, the house was 109 yrs old. And that was a long time ago. From my understanding it was always in posession of one "family" name - like I mentioned b4, they go way back because the street was even named for the family, and decendants still owned a couple of other properties on the same street. I will do more research.

...I just found this website http://www.beyondrealityradio.com/ the guys have a radio show on Saturday night from 7-10. Sign up is free for the live streaming audio of the show...

The radio show is on tonight! :cool1: I'm going to make a point to try to listen to it. I hope someone calls in asking why they didn't punch that guy in the nose at the brewery.

Only one hour until the show starts.

I have to clean out what I call the decoration room in the basement. I went and got a bunch of those plastic tubs today. So, in order to listen to the show which is only streamed online, I'm going to put the baby monitor next to the speaker on the computer. Always thinking!

It's times like this I really need a notebook computer.

I'm gonna try to listen to it. What kind of things do they discuss?
