GGG3 - The Revenge - 17th and 18th July, Riverside International

will miss you all, please toast a marshmallow for me xxx

Right then we are now post-birthday party in our house and need to turn some attention to the weekend.

What times are people aiming to arrive? Could you just remind me how much it was too Jules?

Ta

ooh plans, we've not really done much planning have we, I can't believe its this weekend to be honest!!

I have a half day and Ian will be home at about 2.00, so I think we will probably be there between three and half past. I don't know what everyone else would like to do, but some music, food and catching up?

Saturday we have done the traditional Welsh Quiz, and I'm working on a Disney one, and of course Ians boat race, it sounds bizarre but when we were there last time, the group that were doing it made it look a lot of fun. The three pitches I have booked are right at the bottom of the site on the river, we have three with electric and he said not to bother booking a fourth, just to put the fourth tent up. Its £15 a night with electric, so £90 all together, I paid him a £10 a night deposit, so there is £60 left to pay - if you want to I will pay him the £60 when I get there, and then we can just sort it out later - let me know if that is ok with everyone.

There are no other plans other than much alcohol - so if anyone has anything they would like to throw into the mix??

So, we only have to pay for 3 pitches, but we're splitting the cost between the 4 parties? Have I got that right? I vote for you to pay and us to settle up with you later. Thanks, honey. :thumbsup2

We're currently making a list and checking it twice :teeth:. Food and equipment-wise, I know we're all just bringing our own. What do we need? Food-wise, breakfast for Saturday and Sunday, and barbecue stuff for Friday and Saturday, naturally. Is anyone going to bother taking anything for lunch on Saturday? We're going to buy a stove because we normally struggle to get everything cooked for everyone at the same time. We'll also bring our barbecue and, assuming you're bringing yours, Jules, that should be sufficient for all of us, shouldn't it? After cooking, we usually burn some logs to ward off the late-night chill. I think we normally get through two per night per barbecue (so 8 in total), in which case, can everyone bring 2 logs and one bag of barbecue fuel each (per party)?

What else?

Sounds about right to me Deb. We probably won't bother taking food for Saturday lunch time - there is only so much barbecue food you can take in one weekend. I am sure we will find something nice to eat somewhere.

We will be taking our gas stove and will also bring a bag of barbecue fuel and 2 crackle logs as suggested

We don't finish work till 3.30pm Jules and Georgia doesn't get home from school till 3.45pm so can't see us leaving before 4pm - hopefully we will be there around 6.30pm - unfortunately we can't make it any earlier.

Can't wait to see the site Jules it looks lovely on the internet.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for GGG3

Tam

Yes, I thought we could split it four ways if that is cool with everyone.

As far as equipment goes, we will have the two tables, we will bring the fridge to keep everyones meat cold, the washing up bowl and squidgies, and the travel pots and pans, if anyone needs saucepans? I will get a bag of tealights (100) which will do us all for the weekend.

We will bring the standard bbq, Deb and Matt please don't buy a stove if its just for this weekend as we will bring ours, and also the gas bbq that we got, which we can use as a stove and a bbq, so we can use it to boil water and things as well as use it as a bbq (does that make sense), Nat the gas bbq will also be ideal when you get there if the children are hungry as we can get them something cooked quickly. I already have the crackle logs and will bring charcoal too. Will also bring the electric kettle for our coffees and washing up hot water.

I hadn't really thought about lunch on the Saturday, there is a Spar sort of shop just up the road in Talgarth which will be handy if we need to stock up on ice for the coolers, and will save us going into Brecon if we don't want to.

thats fab jules, i havn't got any stoves sorry ! i have got a cupboard full of crisps and snacks so i will bring some of those for us all to share fri or sat night :thumbsup2

I will also bring our plates and bowls etc and my plastic wine glasses.

Wine glasses is the most important thing Nat. You won't need a stove Nat, and there will be the bbq's going at night, plus the electric kettle for the important cuppas in the morning, we are right glampers with the leccy aren't we lol, it will be worth its wait in gold for music as well.

Matt - we will take the ipod speakers with us ...

Just remembered there is a chippie up the road for lunch?

ooh lovely !

Do you have the postcode for the satnav hun ? i couldnt see it on the website.

I had that problem when we went, how very silly not to have the postcode, I will ring them now - ok cancel that, there is no cover on Orange at the moment, but I will definately ring them, get a postcode and post it here.

Will the children go swimming do you think Nat?

thanks xx

Swimming ! in the puddles do you mean :rotfl2:

they may do actually...i will bring cosies in case.

Can I just warn everyone again, I don't want any disappointment when we get there, the only drawback to the site in my opinion was the trek to the toilets, its up hill and not fun when you have had a drink, Tam,you may want to bring your empty lenor bottle ...

I think we'll buy a stove anyway - it'll come in handy for future camping trips. We'll also bring an electric kettle so as not to tie up valuable stove space boiling water.

Weather forecast isn't too good at the moment :sad2:. Matt will be finishing work at 3pm, so we should be away from here around 3.30pm. No idea how long it will take us to get there - it's not far, but an awkward (albeit very pleasant) cross-country journey. 2 hours? He might try to get away at 2pm.

Postcode is LD3 0HL. It's on the website you pair of eejuts. (That bit was Matt, by the way, in case you hadn't guessed).

Lenor bottle?! Her aim's improved! Bucket, more like. :rotfl:

We could do it like a rally special stage - in case we'll do the 68 miles in around 40mins;);)
