What is the best way to get to and from the GF to Pioneer Hall for the Hoop Dee Doo? Is there a direct (or semi-direct with stops) boat? If there is a boat and there are stops, how many are there and what is the approximate duration of the trip?

We will have a car so is it recommended that we drive to the Contemporary and boat to and from there? I'm concerned that the monorail may not be running when we get out so I don't think taking the monorail to the Contemporary and then taking a boat will work.

Thanks!

Also, I know that when you get to WDW, they will give you a transportation guide that will tell you things like this. Can I find this guide anywhere online?

Thanks!

It depends on what time your show is. If it's the early show, you can either catch the boat from the CR to Ft Wilderness (a nice ride), or you can take the monorail to the TTC, and then catch the Ft Wilderness bus. You won't wait long at all for the bus; it's no more than a 5 minute ride.

At night it gets a little tricky. I have read several times on this site that Disney provides direct bus transportation to the resorts from the trading post. I'm referring to the later show: the 9:30 (?), I think.

Either way, the boat shuts down at 10 pm. Catch the bus back to the TTC and then the monorail to the GF after the show.

Disney will provide you with a transportation guide, but it suggests you use DTD as a transfer point - something I'd never recommend. Who needs it when you've got a site like this giving you tips? :)

Hopefully Tyler will flag me down and correct my info if I'm wrong...

You could take that boat from the GF to MK (It makes at stop at the Poly).

Then take a boat to FW. It may or may not stop at the WL first.

On the way back, if MK is still open, reverse the process. (On the way back, the boat to the GF from MK is non stop).

You are correct.

From the Grand Floridian, you can take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom or Contemporary, and catch a boat to Pioneer Hall. Or you can take the Monorail to the TTC, and catch the bus.

To come back, reverse the steps. Take the bus back to the TTC, and catch the Monorail... or take the boat to the Contemporary (last boat at 10) or to the Magic Kingdom, and then catch the Monorail.

It should be noted that the TTC should only be utilized for Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian guests. No other resorts have transportation at the TTC besides the MK resorts.

The monorail will probably not be running when we get done with the Hoop Dee Doo. If MK closes at 7pm, the the monorail will stop running at 9pm. If we go to the 7:15 Hoop Dee Doo, it won't get out until after the monorail stops running and we'll have to take the bus (which I'm trying to avoid).

We could drive to the Contemporary and park (as resort guests we have 3 hours right?) and then take a boat to Fort Wilderness. If the boats run until 10pm (is this year round?) and we go to the 7:15 show, then we should be able to take a boat back to the Contemporary to pick up the car and drive back to GF. How's that for a plan?

Do you only get 3 hours if you self-park or does that apply to valet too? Can you leave your car for longer if you valet?

If it makes a difference, we're going in November at a slower time of year so I don't think resort parking filling up will be an issue. Do the parking at resorts policies differ at different times of year (i.e. how many guests there are)?

The monorail runs till 11 pm every day - it just won't stop at the MK after 9 pm, in your case. You can still take the bus from Ft Wilderness back to the TTC, and then monorail to the GF after the show. There's no need for you to drive :)

Even better, we could take the monorail to the Contemporary, boat to Fort Wilderness, enjoy the show, boat back to the Contemporary, monorail back to GF.

I suppose it makes sense that the resort monorail runs until 11pm every day. Epcot doesn't close until 9 and all of the folks going back to the MK resorts will most likely take the monorail.

The Resort Monorail will run till 11pm daily, or about 2hrs after the MK closes, whichever is LATER.

Parking at the Contemporary will not be allowed unless you have a priority seating AT the Contemporary. This policy is enforced year round, as parking at the Contemporary is tight year round.

If you are really intent on driving, you can park at Fort Wilderness.

Is there parking at Fort Wilderness for guests attending Hoop Dee Doo? I didn't realize that. Is it plentiful? Has anyone used it before?

There's plenty of parking. It's located at the front of the resort. You will need to take a bus to Pioneer Hall at that point.

You're probably better off taking the boat and/or bus from the GF. It's a very nice ride.
