Are the rooms facing the marina noisy-- we will be napping during the day some. We are considereing requesting either Conch Key or Sago Cay but wondered if you can hear a lot of boat noise.

Also, we have heard some feedback about Sago Cay ( everyone seems to love it) , but would like to hear more from those who stayed in Conch Key.

THANKS!!

We were there last July and stayed in Conch Key. The Yacht was docked right outside our patio and to the left of our room was the marina. We were right on the end facing the marina/lagoon and on the first floor. We never heard anything unless we opend the patio door. It was a great location. We didn't request it or anything. My kids loved watching the people take off on their water mice and they liked looking at the yacht that was right outside. We also saw the kids getting ready for their Pirate Adventure. Hence, they are now signed up for one this trip. It was a little bit far of a walk to the main building/monorail but was real close to the boat to the Magic Kingdom. You'll have a great time no matter where you stay.

We've stayed on the marina side of Sugar Loaf twice and didn't find it noisy at all except during fireworks. Of course, then it is good to be loud.:D I think those buildings form a canyon and you can really hear the booms. Same thing with the howls from BTMRR.

This summer we were in a lagoonview room in Conch Key. It faced the MK at the far north end of the building...great view!

Hi,

I was just in Conch Key 9/10 - 9/14 - it was a wonderful location - don't think GF has many bad locations! Marina view. You really didn't hear noise from boats or people if your patio door is closed. I enjoyed seeing all the little pirates going off in the morning. Enjoy your trip.

We always stay in Sago Cay and I think it's actually one of the quietest areas at GF. You're away from the pools and the main building. We think it's very relaxing and always request it.

I have stayed in Conch Key many times in MK View rooms. The one complaint my sister had is that the sounds of the Water Taxis' horns drove her absolutely bonkers (I should note that they don't really bother me). The Taxis start early in the morning and go late into the evening so be prepared to hear them regularly. This photo should give you an idea of how close the Water Taxi Dock sits in proximity to Conch Key: click here. This photo shows it, too: click here. (I apologize for the SIZE of that last photo -- Yahoo has messed up quite a few of my photos' sizes, arg!)

Oh, let me tell you. We didn't take the water taxi to/from the MK until our last day at the resort, but when we heard how loud the horn was, I told my husband "When we stay here again someday, we have to be sure we do NOT stay in whatever that building is that is closest to the dock!" That thing is earsplitting, it would drive me mad too!
