We are trying to decide if the Sugar Loaf concierge rooms would be inconvenient to the monorail with a 7 and 3 year old. We are interested in the concierge, but the tower concierge is an extra $1000 for three nights. I can't imagine that being worth it unless we were spending lots of time at the hotel. But the Sugar Loaf concierge would only be and extra $300 for three nights. Is it really inconvenient - should we just stay in the tower in regular room? Help please!!

Sugar Loaf is right next to (well, perpendicular to) the main building, so if you don't mind a quick walk outside, you shouldn't find it inconvenient at all. :)

The main building or tower as you're referring to it, does not have any regular rooms. They are all concierge or suites. From the monorail to the SugarLoaf building is no more than a few minutes walk. Basically, you'll exit the monorail, enter the main building and walk about 50 feet to the elevator or stairs. Take it down one floor and either exit out to the left of the registration desk or walk through the main building and exit by the GF Cafe. SugarLoaf is not more than a minute or two walk away. It's about the same distance if you decide to take the resort boat back from the MK.

If you want, take a look at the resort map and it will give you an idea of where all the buildings are located http://www.the-grahams.net/gf/pic_resort_map.shtml . The property is not really that spread out. I'd say a leisurely walk between the two furthest points is about 5 minutes.

we just returned from the GF SLC-we were a family with a 17 yr. old,13 yr. old and a 4 yr. old everything was great! It was really simple to get to the monorail and we even got to ride up front once. It was a wonderful way to experience the GF;it was our 1st time there and I have to say that would be the only way we would want to stay there again! Definetley worth the money!

Sugar Loaf is very convenient to everything at the Grand Floridian. You have Gaspirillas right at your back door, the boat dock on the other end and just steps to the main building.

And if you need a bus you can cut between the main building and your building and be right at the bus stop without even going in the main building.

I think you might mean cut between Sago Cay and and the main building for the bus stop, not SugarLoaf.
