Okay - going for a garden view room here (LOL! Started out at All Star Music and am now looking into GF - Jeeeeesh!). DH is adamant about close proximity to bus stop, monorail, and food. View is not an issue, really. So which building would be the best for us. I secretly want to stay in an Alice room, but I'm sure all the rooms are pretty.

Anyone stay in a nice location?

We started out at the All-stars and now we are staying at the Grand Floridian too. I had no idea what I was missing back then! This is my first trip there so I really have no info on it but, I can't wait till I see what people have to say.

The closest building to the bus stop and Gasparilla's Grill will be Sago Cay. This is also the farthest building from the pools, yet is close to the main building (where the monorail is). If you're looking for close, this would be as good as it gets to transportation issues, but it's the farthest from both of the pools.

Compared to the value and moderate resorts, none of the rooms at the GF are far away from transportation. That is one of the many things that I love about the GF!!!!

I wouldn't say it is the closest to the transportation at all, but the room we stayed in had a perfect view of the castle. We didn't mind walking the grounds to get to the transportation because every inch of the GF is georgeous. We could open our balcony doors and view the castle just by sitting on our bed. Priceless!!!

Have a wonderful time....:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Thanks all! Sounds like we can't go wrong no matter where we stay!

CindyBella - it will be our first time at GF also. Hope you post a review when you get back! Have a great trip!

LOL!!! Supposedly there are rooms that have decorations on the walls and on the bedspreads with Alice in Wonderland characters - done in pastel colors. I think it would be totally "Disney" to stay in a room like that!

My DD would love a Cinderella room like that. She would think she was in heaven!

We stayed in Big Pine Key on our first trip and it was close to the main building, pool & transportation. A little farther to the snack bar, but not that far. It was our first WDW trip and I didn't know you could ask for a castle view. Our room faced the Polynesian. The second time we stayed in Conch Key in a garden view that faced the marina, very nice view. Close to the snack bar, farther to the main building and transportation. Nothing is really far compared to the value or moderates.

We stayed at the GF twice (love it!), both times in Conch Key, which has the Alice-themed rooms. Very pretty. It's not the closest to transportation, but I don't think you'll mind strolling to the main building in the morning - the grounds are so beautiful! In the evening, you can take a boat back from MK, and the dock is right behind Conch Key, which is great if you're tired, and who isn't after a day at the parks?! :D
