Does anyone find it unusual that there has never been a walking path added from the Grand Floridian to the MK?:confused3

We have often wondered about that ourselves. They would have to build a bridge over the waterway where they keep the floats there in the back. I think the water also runs behind the Sago Cay building and if that's the case than another bridge would have to go there as well. It would be a nice walk.

I wish there was, but there is that section where a bridge would be necessary to go over the waterway. I always enjoy walking from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian, and I have also walked from the MK along that pathway leading toward the GF. You can only go so far and then you have to turn around. I would love to be able to walk all the way home to the Polynesian when there.

1) There was a path originally planned.
2) The bricks you bought were to line the whole path.
3) Due to the waterway access, the path was scrubbed.
4) The boats and floats are too tall to build a walking bridge.
5) That is, without steps, then you would have an ADA access problem.

We have 4 bricks and one of ours is all the way at the end of that dead end path. This might sound like a very silly question but what is ADA?

American Disabilities Act of 1990something. It covers rest room doors and all types of access routes in and out of buildings. Not sure why they couldn't do it and place a sign that says it is not handicapped accessible. But I suppose that wouldn't be very Disneyesque. I think I agree too.

That's really cool about the bricks. That's so much better than the things at EPCOT. I know the tiles are less expensive and all that but I really wanted a brick and they weren't selling them any more. Seems to me they could have paid for an elevator at the waterway by pre-selling all those bricks!!

It's illegal. The ADA act states any new construction must be wheelchair accessible- it would be walking the line if they were to do that. Placing a sign is simply not good enough... although I agree it would be a nice addition!
