We are taking out first trip to Disney with our new addition!! He'll be about 7 months old in September when we are planning to go. We are a family of 6 now and are planning to stay at the Floridian. It will be our first time. We've stayed at CR and Poly before, but I thought I heard that rooms at GF were the largest? With a crib this time do you think this is our best choice? We'd like to be on the monorail since we are sporting a stroller again. Are there any rooms larger then others at GF that we should request? Maybe a little nook for the crib? Please chime in. I am hoping it all works out. The 2 bedroom villa the DVC's would put us in is beyond our budget so they are not an option.....

I thought that the Poly rooms were larger than the GF. We were there with our son when he was still in a crib and we had it in the middle of the room. It was not a problem for us but we are only 4 people. The crib was a full size crib they may have changed the cribs since we were there.

Not sure about the actual square footage, but all resorts on monorail are by far larger hotel rooms than others.

As for the GF, You might want to consider the LODGE TOWER ROOMS they have a small seating area with extra tv & nice windows. You would definately have more room in them. This is a separate category and you would be assured of this room. I think it ran about the same as LV or slightly more? They are all GV thou. We have had a corner room (lovely) but not sure, When we got that it was a request and not guarranteed, so we where just lucky. The corner rooms appeared slightly larger than the usual room. The dormer rooms are smaller. With that many people you should not be given one.

Enjoy. Mky:cutie:

Some Poly rooms are larger than others. The newer buildings Tokelau, Tahiti, and Rapa Nui are larger than the other buildings. I always thought so, but 2 years ago, we had our room changed from Raratonga to tahiti and tahiti was much larger, bathroom and sitting area near patio.:wizard:

We stayed in GF, Polynesian - Tahiti (it was Moorea then) and CR South Wing Room. I thought the CR wing room was the largest of the three. The wing rooms are less expensive than the tower rooms and are still very nice. I thought the GF rooms were the smallest of the three.

Thank you guys/girls. Any suggestions on the building I should request with the baby? I don't think we can afford the lodge tower. Also I guess Im thinking about the Poly now too. We stayed there one year in Novemeber and we had the building right next to the main house with a view of the quiet pool (very nice!) Anyone know which building this is? And is there a better one to request?

That would of been Raratonga. One of the original buildings. That is a great location your now between the bus stop to the left and the great ceremonial house to the right (with the monorail). We prefer the quiet pool too, so like to be in the same building. Tokelau is to the right of raratonga (or towards the TTC) it runs across the right side of the quiet pool. Tokelau has balcony's on both the 2nd and 3rd floor, and patio's on 1st. These are also larger rooms.

Happy planning, mky:cutie:
