If you had a choice of GF Lagoon View or the Poly Garden View, and traveling with 3 yr. old and 1 yr. old what would you do?

Sheesh, what a nice dilemma to have! I like views, so I'd pick GF lagoon view.;) But I dunno -- maybe others with small children could weigh in and say which they think would be better for the little ones.

I'd say the Poly for smaller children, and yet we have small children and are staying at the GF lagoon view for four days in two weeks. :)

My wife is dying to try the GF and the rooms I wanted at the Poly weren't available so GFLV it is for us! But all things being equal, I'd pick the Poly.

Thank you Laura and Grumpy 37 for the reply. I think we will go with the Poly. It seems to be a little more kid freindly. My freinds and family feel like the GF is a little more stuffy for little ones.

Thanks

I agree stay at the Poly. We stayed in both with young children and perfer the Poly.

We have a 6yo ds and we are staying at the GF for the second time in 2 years in Oct. We all love the GF! Great location, great restuarants, great pool and a hot tub which Poly doesn't have!:bounce:

DW and I have stayed at the GF 8 times over the years. Our grandson was 3 years old during our first trip and the GF worked out very well for our group. If you get the right room, you can sit on your balcony and watch the EWP at night and also have a good view of the MK. As mentioned before, the GF has hot tubs and the Poly doesn't. The GF has sinks outside of the bathtub/shower and toilet area, while the Poly has all in the same room. The GF has two pools and I believe a kiddie pool. We stayed at the Poly once, so I can speak from experience of both resorts.

We are just common people from a small midwestern city and we didn't find the GF stuffy at all.

Enjoy your stay at whichever resort you pick.

I stayed at the Poly (LV concierge) with my DD last Oct and I have to reccommend the Poly. You can walk to the Poly from the TTC so you can take a direct monorail home Epcot and take the resort monorail to MK or boat to MK. The pool at the Poly is "zero entry" meaning you can just walk in from one end.

I have never stayed at the GF but so far the Poly is by far my favorite. I have been to PO-Riverside, YC, BWV, Ft. Wilderness Cabins and Dolphin. The Poly is really relaxed. Such a great break from the parks.

I am not from a rich, or decently off family. We stayed at the GF once and the Polynesian once. Both are very good places to stay. I never felt that it was stuffy at the GF. It is a beautiful victorian style that, while pretty was just to frilly and doll house like for me. I didn't feel that the extra cost was warrented. At the Polynesian I felt more at home with the less fanciful room decore and surroundings. I like the tropical foliage of the Polynesian and loved the formal gardens at the GF.
You should choose the place that you find most alluring. Both are great and you wouldn't have a bad time at either.

I'm not sure if you still want opinions but I'd like to throw my 2 cents worth in! I've stayed at both and I would personally choose the GF and request a MK view. I enjoy both resorts very much. We never found GF to be stuffy. The deciding factor for us (with small children) would be the pool(s). My kids found the Poly volcano to be a little advanced for them. It's inside a volcano (dark), fast and curvy. However, all my kids were able to enjoy the GF slide. It was fast, curvy but it was open. It made all the difference. Plus, the pools at GF are bigger than the Poly's.

I don't think there is a wrong decision here...either way you should have fun. We have decided to alternate between the two...but we aren't going to stay at the Poly again until the refurb is complete.

We love both. Transportation is better at the Polynesian, more restaurants at GF, nice pools at both, more beaches at the Polynesian, nice shops at both. I think you'll have a great vacation at either resort. Try one this time and perhaps the other on a future trip. Of course you might just find your magical resort and have a hard time staying anywhere else!:D
