GF gardenview -OR- CR Tower MK view

Starting to plan for next years trip.

We thought of doing a gardenview room at GF. For about $150 more we can do a Tower MK view at Contemporary.

We have never stayed at CR.

Suggestions or opinions please

Is that $150 per night more or total. That would be a good upgrade for $150 total and I think well worth it. We stayed in a tower room last year facing the lake and it was beautiful. We watched the fireworks from the end of our hallway and the EWP went right by our room.

If I put everything in correctly it was $150 total. I thought that seemed pretty good too. My struggle is we really like the GF (never stayed GV but want to save some $$) but then I priced out CR and came up w/$150 more for MK view.

For MK view I would definitely go with CR. I haven't stayed at GF although I think it is beautiful. I believe the rooms at CR would be larger and they are very nice.

We have never stayed at the GF but the CR tower view is unbelieveable. We felt like we could reach out and touch Space Mountain! Our room and bathroom were huge. Remember, too, that fantastic walk to and from the Magic Kingdom!

My suggestion would be for the Contemporary Magic Kingdom view? This is a picture from a Magic Kingdom view room, that I took from room #4840 which is on the 12th floor of the Contemporary back in August 2006.

We are HUGE GF fans!!! Last year, we did the Tower MK view at the CR and we LOVED it. This year, we are going back to the GF (because I miss it) but I think that Tower MK view is something everyone should experience at least once.

As far as space, I am not sure what (if any) the exact square footage difference would be, but they "feel" about the same in size.

We have not stayed at GF but LOVED the MK Tower room we were in this spring. All I can say was that it was amazing!! Good luck with your decision.

traci, i am glad that you started this thread. I could not wait to hear the answers to your question because we are trying to figure the same thing! I think the CR sounds awsome and the view is going to be great!!

I'm another one who hasn't stayed at the GF, but the CR tower room view is worth every penny you pay for it! Depending on when your trip will be, however, you should be warned that CR is pretty well torn up right now. We went there last week to look around (we were staying at another resort this time) and found everything to be quite a mess. But you still have the huge advantage of the monorail station being inside, the walk to or from the MK, the big rooms, etc. It wouldn't be an easy decision for me, but I think I'd be inclined to avoid the CR until the work is done. Not sure when that is, though.

We were contemplating the same thing (we were at AKL). I just switched to CR MK View and I'm so excited. This is where we stayed as kids and I'm looking forward to the looks on my own kids faces.

We stayed at GF garden view a few years ago and it was wonderful. Beautiful gardens, fantastic room, everything was great and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

However, for $150 to see MK from your room - go for it. I've never stayed at the Contemperary but I think I would go that route in this case.
