I heard the Christmas Decorations are really nice there. Can we just ride the monorail to the resort? Is that the easiest way to go there? Is it worth time out of the parks to see this?
Okiemom, the decorations are lovely at the Grand Floridian. You may certainly visit the resort in order to view them, no need to be a guest. Here is a photo that I took of the resort's Gingerbread House a couple of years ago: click here. It was definitely something worth seeing.
The other Disney resorts also have lovely holiday decorations. If you have the time, do consider visiting a few of the resorts just to see how the holiday decorations vary (the Animal Kingdom Lodge has a lovely tree, as does the Wilderness Lodge; the BoardWalk Villas and Yacht & Beach Clubs are also decorated in true holiday style).
By all means, make a monorail stop at the GF to see the holiday decor! The gingerbread house was very cool. Plus when we were there a couple of years ago they had a street vendor outside giving away "chestnuts roasting on an open fire." Nice touch!
I made a monorail stop at the GF last year at Christmastime and spent so much time looking at the Gingerbread house and all the other decorations. It was really worth the trip.
