We are going to WDW for 13 nights in June. :cool1: The first 3 nights, we will be at Shades of Green (the first night we don't get in til 12:30 at night). DH and I just cannot decide what we want to do that first night for dinner. We keep throwing around all the monorail restaurants. Anyone have opinions here on the Grand Flo Cafe? We have been to Chef Mickey's & Kona Cafe before, and those are also on the table (ha, like I can get a CM reservation at this point, but we'll see). We could also just eat at Shades, but we're thinking we will want to explore resorts that night.

I'm leaning no to the buffets, but could probably be talked into one. The bulk of our trip we will be at BWV and will be on the Dining Plan, so we do have a LOT of ADRs lined up.

Or we could just go, gasp, offsite somewhere. What about Jungle Jim's that I read about once in awhile? BTW, we have 3 kids- ages, 10, 7 and 3. (boy, boy, girl).

Anyway- I will say no to Ohana & Citricos, we already have a ressie for Narcoosee's and CA Grill. So it leaves us with Kona, GF Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's.....or we could head over to WL....decisions, decisions, decisions.

We have dined at GFC several times and always had great meals & service. In fact I would say it is right up there with some of the other top restaurants at WDW.

we've had dinner at GFC twice and enjoyed it both times - weren't planning on either, last-minute and they have availability - but what a surprise, the food is really good here! - crabcakes, prime rib, mini desserts, chocolate fondue - and a lovely floral setting besides

You are certainly missing out on a fine meal with a no to Citrico's, do put it on your list for another time.

I did not have a good experience with GF Cafe the last time we ate there for breakfast.... service was not good and food did not come out in a timely manner and was not hot. It surprised us. In the past, I would have definitely recommended them... maybe it was an off day for them or the server was not up to par, but I will not eat there again for a while.

I do recommend the Captain's Grill at the YC.. they do a fine breakfast and have a buffet if you choose that route, but also lovely ala carte items.

We absolutely love GF Cafe for lunch. We've only had dinner there a couple of times but like the other posters, our dinner experiences were fine. It's a pretty restaurant with good service and food.

We love the Grand Floridian cafe. It is quiet and very lovely. The food is outstanding. One of our favorite places to have dinner. we like to stroll around the resort before and after. It is so pretty and peaceful. we had dinner there this past Easter and it was perfect.
