Geyser Point Changes

Geyser Point has always confused people lol. When we stayed at WL this past January we over heard more than one group of people trying to figure out what was up with it. We just ordered our food from the window and ate by the water. That bison burger is really good.

Just looked at the app seems there is truth the blogger as it does says TS on the app.

Where are you seeing Geyser Point listed as a TS offering?

If you look at the individual entry for Geyser Point using the Map or by a direct search it is listed as Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Yes it does accept Dinning Plans but so does the new Wailulu Bar & Grill at the Island Tower, and has the exact same situation and it also does not take reservations.

From the times we went there which was staying at WL (I have reserved for part of my trip this year) the menu was small if I recall correct 3 entrees now there is many more as well as a large amount of Apps.

I think you are confusing the (2) offerings at Geyser Point. They have Full Menu, To Go Menu, and a Window offerings. Did your earlier visit happen to be right after COVID when offerings were limited.

This! I think that's why there is some confusion on what it is considered, at least for the walk up window. It was a big discussion on one of the posts in the late summer of 2024 - may even be this thread. On our September trip, I went to the window and specifically asked if the food would count as QS or TS for the DDP. The CM and a manager both confirmed it is a TS credit, for both the window at GP or sitting down at GP. The prices for the food are the same on both the GP sit down menu as well as the walk up window. Only difference with the window is no tip is expected (yet!).

Disney is getting a little greedy when a mobile order pick up is a table service credit.

Not sure why you would use the Window if you have Dinning plan. Might as well eat at the bar/table and have a large choice of drinks.

Does feel silly that the window is now classed as TS when it has been QS in the past.

I watched a couple of his posts ~ instantly turned me off.

I read through more googles.

He is not well liked AT ALL in the community.

I would stick to information from the top reliable sources, not the low picking sources or the "unscrupulous sources".


While this is a situation that maybe could happen, I don't think they have the size to take ADRs (holding tables) and the volume of walkups the hotel would generate. The food qualifies, but I don't think the space & structure do. But who knows???

I consider the offerings at Geyser Point a step up from the CS Roaring Fork just 50 yards away.

But, I never use the dining plan, so there's that.

Here are some similar examples Wailulu at the new Island tower, Kona Cafe To Go, and Ale & Compass Restaurant To Go are just like Geyser Point. Mobile-order is TS Dining Credit at a TS location.

It is the location vs greed. Quick Service locations also offer mobile-order (To Go), and they charge QS Dining Credits.

I think of greed with BOG going from a counter service location at lunch, to table service completely. What else could it be?
