Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Disney Dining Plan

I would love to see the menu for the QS window. The mobile order in MDE is for TS credits only. I cannot find the QS menu on AllEars.net or anywhere else. Anyone snap a recent photo?

When we stayed at WL in 2022, the QS was available but you couldn't eat in the area immediately under cover & around the bar. That was for waiter service & TS only. But there are plenty of areas around the area where you can st overlooking the lake & eat your meal.
Wondering if this is still the case in 2024. Still waiting to hear from someone who has been there this year and can confirm they used QS credits at the walk-up take-out window.

It is the case in 2024. You can use QS credits at the walk up window, however it's a totally different menu from Geyser Point, no bison burger, there are burgers, but they are the typical Disney burger. It's your basic QSR menu. No fancy drinks, some beer and canned hard seltzer. There are some outside tables you can use to sit and eat at, but no specific seating area like at Roaring Fork or Geyser Point (can't bring the take out food in GP to eat). If you want to eat at GP, it's TS credits and not the best use of them.

That's odd. Just today we watched a fairly recent YouTube food review of Geyser Point and at first the couple wanted to be seated but the wait was long. So they opted for the takeout window instead and the man ordered a Bison Burger. Maybe they took that off of the takeout menu once the DDP was reinstituted. (?). Yes I understand the open seating available. We've been to GP many times and ordered from the takeout window. We ordered the bison burger then but the most recent time was 2yrs ago and things changed. We've never visited while using the DDP. We actually prefer the seating closer to the water vs the sit-down (order off the menu) section.

He may have, but he paid the GP price, it’s not a QS item. It’s $23, a TS credit even if you get it to go. You keep talking about using a QS credit. The GP menu is not QS. You can order it but not as a QS credit.

I understand. But to clarify, have you actually visited GP, using this years version of the QS DDP and attempted to use a QS credit to purchase the Bison Burger at the takeout window? I ask, not to be nasty, but bc, as I'm sure you know, there's an awful lot of info to be found online that's presented as *fact* when it's either old info, or something that someone "read some where but now I forget where", etc.

Can you share the video?

I think confusion comes from the fact that GP used to accept QS credits, but now only accepts TS *and* that QS pool window near GP used to be an extension of the same menu, including the bison burger, but it has a different menu now. So, if you order the bison burger to go, you are either paying cash or using a TS. Like at Ale & Compass to go, you can order to go, but if you want to use DDP, it will take a TS credit.

When I do a search for Quick Service Plan and Magic Kingdom restaurants, Roaring Forks comes up, but not GP.

The video was from 9 mo ago. When I have time I will trace it down and post it. Of course, I'm thinking that 9 months ago was before the current DDP was back in service. So Disney may have removed the most expensive QS options from the take out menu, in advance of the latest DDP going into effect.... or maybe not. Best case, I'd like a "boots on the ground", very recent, personal experience to verify yay or nay. But that doesn't seem to be happening here. Either way, we will give it a try. If we take the boat from MK to GP and can't order what we want from the take out menu, using our QS credits we will either pay out of pocket or go to Roaring Fork instead.

Yes, please go and report back! I think you have a great plan with taking the boat and having a Plan B of paying OOO or going to Roaring Forks. I think it's been hard to get "boots on the ground" reporting because you cannot drive to the resorts anymore without an ADR.

I think that anything that may have been filmed prior to January 9 2024, or even in the first few weeks after the DDP came back may not be quite reliable.

I’ve stayed at the WL 6 or 7 times since covid (most recently this spring) and again next month. So boots on the ground. The bison burger has never been on the pick up counter/window menu since the WL reopened after covid. As said before, it’s just regular Disney burgers and a few other limited choices. You can ask to order it because it’s all from the same kitchen, but it’s from the TS Geyser Point menu, you will not see it on the menu board at the pick up window. You can ask to order anything from GP menu, but it’s the GP price or a TS credit. It’s a good burger, but it’s not going to blow your socks off, the smash burger in the lounge at Steakhouse 71 is arguably better. Same for the burgers at D’Luxe Burger at Disney Springs (and those are a QS credit), I’ve had better burgers there. The bison burger is good, but unless you’re going to go sit and enjoy drinks and food at Geyser Point, I wouldn’t make the trip just for the burger. I know you’re still not going to listen, just set your expectations. I’m tapping out now.

.... I know you’re still not going to listen, just set your expectations.
Wow! OK. That's harsh!

Just looking for a real life experience with using the *new* DDP, QS credit RECENTLY. All things Disney can change in a heartbeat. Every Disney vet knows that.

here is the video from 9 months ago. At 5:16 they say how they ordered from the Take Out window. They aren't using the DDP so it's still impossible to know if the QS credit would work for the Bison Burger if ordered from the Take Out window. But we will give it a shot and I'll report back here during or after the trip

I’m a former CM of over 15 years and visit 3-4 times each year (think that qualifies as a Disney vet) - I’m well aware of how Disney operates. And not harsh, it’s the truth. You asked and many answered, yet you continue to doubt and contradict every response. Hope it works out for you. I’ll be there next month so I can check if you haven’t already traveled. Have a great vacation!

I never said you *weren't* a Disney vet. You completely read that into the words typed. You seem extremely defensive. (?)
Thus far NO ONE that has "answered", yourself included, has met the parameters of #1 Visited using the NEW DDP (QS version) and #2 ordered the Bison Burger from the take out window. If someone has and I missed it, sorry for that.
I'm most decidedly NOT contradicting! I keep saying things like "of course the video *was* 9 mo ago, so things may have changed", "its still impossible to know" and similar. This shows my mind is far from set. I know it could go either way when we visit. We've been regular WDW guests since 1987. We've used the DDP many times, so I know very often things pass through the "allowable" options for the DDP that are quite shocking. Disney usually catches these and closes the loophole but until they do, it's allowed. This is the case with this newest release. In my educating myself, in prep for using this plan, I've seen several videos where the user has asked the server, "is this allowed as my cocktail?" or "can I get this for my dessert?" (with the TS plan) and the server replied, "yes" even though the cost for the item was well above the average for the cocktail or dessert. It happens. Could it happen with the Bison Burger? Maybe? So my wanting to get an actual QS DDP user to reply with recent use at the Take Out window is not me being doubtful or contradictory, but rather, being an educated consumer. I'm not arguing that the Bison Burger SHOULD be allowed. Not saying that I'm gonna cause a stink if we get there and it's not. I said, we'll either get something else that's allowed, pay OOP for the Bison or go to Roaring Fork . No big deal. But I'm not going to discount the possibility until someone posts here that they've been there recently, tried it and it didn't work. I'm sorry that your feelings seem to be hurt that I continued to wish for a recent, apples to apples, use report after you gave your answer, but I'm not breaking any forum rules by doing so. Have a good evening.

When is your trip? I will be there August 27 and can check. I won't have the DDP, but I can certainly ask the CMs what is and isn't allowed as QS.

Just back. You can use a CS credit at the walk up window, but no mobile ordering for that credit.
