We are planning a trip in early Dec. I was waiting for S&D teacher rates or entertainment book rates for our dates, and when I checked tonight it says they are sold out for the first week in Dec!?!

SO I checked the Disney site, and I can't get Wilderness Lodge? It keeps giving me Fort Wilderness Cabins.

We're a family of 5.....

Geez, did I wait too long? I thought this was value season????

Are you able to be a little flexible on your dates? I see there is availabaility Dec 5-12 for a Deluxe room at the Wilderness Lodge! The price will be $3122 for the week. :sunny:

Wilderness Lodge is a very popular resort during this time so it may be difficult to get. Also if you are a little flexible with your dates you may be able to get WL.

Unfortunately, we're not real flexible, as DH has a conference that week in DTD. Of course we could stay at that hotel, but we really wanted to stay on property.

Have you tried AKL? We LOVE WL, but wasn't able to book it last year and ended up at AKL. Now, AKL is our favorite -- we don't want to stay anywhere else.

Try Port Orleans Riverside and/or Port Orleans French Quarter. I believe both can accomodate 5 people with a rollaway bed -- might be a little more snug, but you'll be on-property and both resorts are beautiful. Also, both resorts have a boat shuttle that runs to/from DTD after 4 p.m., which might make it easier for your DH coming back from his conference.

If you are going the first week of Dec., be warned that POR is having overflow of the Pop Warner (children's football/cheerleading) crowd, so POFQ would be the quieter choice. My family will be at POFQ that week, in fact. POFQ is a lovely, quiet resort -- we stayed there in April and I highly recommend it. If you don't have special conference rates, ask for the AAA discount.

Good Luck!

POFQ does not accomodate five unless one is under 3 in a crib... POR is the only moderate that can hold five (due to the trundle bed)... although, some mods do have rollaways available, they are not for a fifth person, but rather for four that do not wish to share beds!

I think I'm going to go with a TA to help me sort it out. Last time it was easy -- we got 2 connecting rooms at ASsports (my kids loved it). We wanted something nicer this time, especially since it is Pop Warner week and the All Stars will likely be filled and busy.

On the Disney website, POR is sold out for 5; the price I get for AKL is $2653.70 (room only) for 7 nights (Dec 4 - Dec 11) that's like $380 a night (it's giving me the deluxe bunk beds savannah view as my only option)- I thought in value season with a standard room the price is $199 (which would be much more affordable for us -- maybe I'm misunderstanding what "standard" means -- perhaps that means a room only 4 can stay in); Beach Club is coming up at $2770.88.
