Getting transferred points from different resort?

I would like some clarity in this matter...

When you transfer points to another member who has a different HOME resort, do the points turn into points from the buyers resort or do they retain the status of points from the sellers resort?

They are supposed to remain the sellers home resort, but it has been reported here many times that that isn't what happens. I have had BCV points put into my account and they became VWL points, because that is the contract they were put into. It took me two days to straighten it out but it worked out in the end.

Lynne - Technically, you should be able to use the sellers booking window. I've heard there's a glitch in the system, though, that they turn into the buyers home resort. Then you have to contact MS to change it back to the seller's home resort. It is supposed to work so that you can use the seller's 11 mo window, though.

It should be based on the sellers home. It appears that it defaults to the receivers home (which may be what you want). I understand that you need to ask them to override this to get the sellers home resort.
