I have dinner ressies at Trails End on Christmas day. I think I read that I can't drive directly to Fort Wilderness. If not, can I drive to Wilderness Lodge and park and then take the bus to Fort Wilderness?

I'm pretty sure you can drive directly there but don't hold me to that.

The best way to do this is to drive to the front gate area of Fort Wilderness, enter through the guest entrance (not check in). Park in the overflow lot right there and catch a bus to Settlement Outpost (yellow). It will bring you right to the stop thats very close to Trails End, Hoop Dee Doo, etc. Or you can catch the launch from MK and end up at the marina, short walk to Trails End. OR, you can park at WL and catch a Fort Wild. bus which takes the back roads and puts you right at the same bus stop as the settlement yellow would. You definitely canNOT drive directly there though! The Fort buses are so efficient, you'll be there in no time!

PS: i recommend the 3rd option cause you can catch the WL decos at the same time!

I recommend this option too because not only can you see the WL decorations, but the FW ones as well. As the bus drives thru the campground, you'll be able to see the decos that ppl have put on their campers, trailers, etc. Some ppl go all out - its really cool.

And TE is great! Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Well, the only thing is, the bus doesn't really go through the campgrounds using this option cause it takes the back road behind WLV and comes in around the stables near the settlement depot. There are no camp sites along that road but it IS the fastest option. To see all the campsites, well, the ones along the rode, the best option would be to park in overflow in the front and ride the yellow settlementn bus all the way to the back, getting off at the settlement depot. Trails End is SO worth it!

Thank you everyone for your input!!! I just watched the new Travel Channel special last night and I am looking forward to seeing people's decorations at FW.

By the way, does anyone know whether or not either of the two couples interviewed for the program were DISers?
