getting to the airport on time

Hi. We are using a towncar service to and from the airport to our resort. If I have a 5:15pm flight out, on a Monday, what time should I request pick up? Last fall, we sat in the airport for 1 1/2 hours and it was hard. I kept thinking we could have seen this or that ect. I'd love suggestions. Thanks!

Most of the Town Car companies that I have used (post 9/11) will arrange your pick up time for about 2 hours prior to your scheduled flight. It takes about a 1/2 hour to get from Disney to the airport, and an hour and a 1/2 is time enough to check your bags and go through security. We've even had time enough to grab a quick bite to eat at the gate or on the plane.
