Hi We are planning our Xmas trip :Pinkbounc and want to once again visit Premium Outlet. We didn't plan to rent a car this time but wonder what our best option is regarding getting to the mall. Is there a bus service, should we rent for the day, or just use a cab service. Any adivse would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance for the help.

A one day rental would be your cheapest option. If you're familiar with where the Orlando Premium Outlets are located, you know it's not very far from Downtown Disney near the intersection of SR535 and Vineland Road, right along I-4. Depending on where in WDW you're staying, a taxi ride may not be that far. But if a cab ride is U.S.$20-25 each way, a car rental would be money saved. And having a car for 24 hours would allow you to go other places as well such as the Mall at Millenia (Bloomingdales/Macy's/Neiman Marcus) or the Florida Mall (Macy's/Nordstrom/Sak's/Dillard's) or someplace other than Disney to eat.

We took a cab from POP to the Premium Outlet mall on 10/10/2006 and the fare was $17.

Thank you for the info- sounds like a couple of cabs is the best way to get all 9 of us the Premium. We would like to avoid renting a car for 24 hrs if possible. It always ends of costing alot more than you initially think by the time you add all the extra insurances etc. Thanks again! :cool1:

Double check with your own insurance company - most people don't need ANY additional insurance when they rent a car, no matter what the rental agent tells you. Extra insurrance is a big money-maker for rental car companies, so they push it real hard and sometimes use scare tactics to sell it to you.

Cabs will work for your group, just make sure you have the cab company number programmed into a few cell phones or written down so that you can call for the return trip.

However, renting a van might be worth the extra expense for you, because having your own wheels for a day would enable you to go other places besides OPO. There are lots of outlet malls, flea markets, and shopping centers in the WDW area, not to mention some great dinner shows and restaurants off-site like Medeival Times and the Pirates Dinner Show. Planning an off-site day might be a lot of fun for your group.
